আজ বুধবার (২৯ জুলাই) বাংলাদেশ প্রেস ক্লাব ইউএই'র সভাপতি মামুনুর রশীদ, গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকারের তথ্য ও সম্প্রচার মন্ত্রণালয়ের মন্ত্রী জহির উদ্দিন স্বপন এমপি এবং প্রতিমন্ত্রী ইয়াসির খান চৌধুরীর সাথে পৃথক সৌজন্য সাক্ষাত করেন।

সাক্ষাৎকালে প্রবাসীদের নানাবিধ সমস্যা ও সার্বিক কল্যাণের পাশাপাশি বিদেশের মাটিতে বাংলাদেশের ইতিবাচক ভাবমূর্তি (Positive Branding) উজ্জ্বল করার বিষয়ে আলোচনা হয়। আলোচনায় প্রবাসে কর্মরত সাংবাদিকেরা যাতে কোনো প্রকার বাধা বা ভয় ছাড়া সম্পূর্ণ পেশাদারিত্ব, স্বচ্ছতা ও নিরপেক্ষতার সাথে মুক্ত সাংবাদিকতা চর্চা করতে পারেন সে বিষয়ে গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হয়। তথ্য প্রতিমন্ত্রী প্রবাসী সাংবাদিকদের এই ভূমিকার ভূয়সী প্রশংসা করেন এবং বস্তুনিষ্ঠ সাংবাদিকতার পরিবেশ বজায় রাখতে পূর্ণ সহযোগিতার আশ্বস্ত করেন।

সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ শেষে প্রধানমন্ত্রী তারেক রহমানের মূল মন্ত্র "সবার আগে বাংলাদেশ" খচিত বিশেষ সুভেনিয়ার কোট পিন (Coat Pin) উপহার হিসেবে মন্ত্রী ও প্রতিমন্ত্রীর নিকট হস্তান্তর করা হয়। তারা অত্যন্ত আনন্দ ও আগ্রহের সাথে এই উপহার গ্রহণ করেন।
