I was the kid who dreaded being called on in class during school.
Shy. Quiet. Very happy not being noticed. đ
(I know some of you will find it hard to believe this, but it is true)
Today, I can walk into a boardroom, lead a team, present to a room full of people⊠and actually enjoy it.
Of course, I didnât suddenly become an extrovert. I just slowly became more comfortable being seen.
And dance had a lot to do with that.
Getting on stage despite the nerves taught me presence.
It taught me that you donât have to be the loudest person in the room to hold one.
Confidence, I realised, isnât something you either have or donât.
You build it. One uncomfortable moment at a time.
The shy girl is still very much there.
She just knows how to own the room now. 𧥠đ«¶
