Your branding might look good… but does anyone actually feel anything?
The brands winning attention are not simply creating something pretty enough to pause on, they are creating sensory worlds people want to step into.
Sensory marketing uses sight, sound, touch, scent and taste to shape how audiences experience and remember a brand. Think of the weight of luxury packaging, a signature hotel scent, the satisfying click of a product closing, or imagery so textural you can practically feel it through the screen.
It works because our brains connect sensory cues with emotion and memory. And when a brand creates a distinct feeling consistently, it becomes easier to recognise, remember and form an attachment to.
No, this does not mean every business needs a signature fragrance, an ASMR account and a branded croissant by next Tuesday. It means considering what your brand sounds like, how your packaging feels and what emotion your content creates.
Because looking good might earn the pause, but creating a feeling is what makes people remember you.
Save this for the next time someone tells you branding is “just the logo.” 👀
