Cameroon championship is becoming a nightmare for footballers
Considered as one of the greatest football nation in Africa, it is obvious that Cameroon is facing a lot of difficulty to organize it football at the local level. To trace one Cameroonian club competing at the International scene is more like a miracle at a certain stage. Years back, Cameroon had legendary clubs recognised at the continental level such as Canon of Yaounde, Oryx of Douala, PWD Bamenda, Union of Douala or Dnamo of Douala, just to name a few. Some of them had the opportunity to win the African champions Leagues. Cameroon once had great talented players such as the roving ambassador Albert Roger Milla, Thomas Nkono, Théophile Abega. All of them played at the local level before becoming the famous professionals. Now a day no one can predict period related To the end of the season and when will the next season started. At times more than 8 months will seperate one season to the other. How can footballers perform in such environment, performances are on cage. Footballers no longer have dreams to be transfered to renown clubs across the world or have the opportunities to showcase their talent, players are still seeking for basic necessities and at times they prefere friendly encounters than the mismanagement of the local championship. It is not an understatement to say that a footballer has forgotten footballers pride because although the situation was not too impressive before the arrival of the one people consider as the most talented in Cameroon, the president of the Federation Samuel ETO'O said at the beginning of his mandate that his main objective is to bring back the glory nature of Cameroon football. But this is an assignment not a slogan.
