Meet the original thought leader.
And you probably don’t even know his name.
Peter Drucker is called the Father of Modern Management.
In 1943, General Motors invited him in to study how the company worked. Two years later he told them the truth: they were doing it wrong.
GM rejected his ideas and banned his book
But in the US, Ford used them to avoid collapse, and Jack Welch used them to grow General Electric from 14 to 410 billion dollars.
When the term thought leader was coined in 1994, Drucker was the name that was on the top of Joel Kurtzman’s mind.
Not the loudest voice, but the one with something real to say.
That is the standard of real influence.
