1/ Supercell signed a deal to acquire Metacore, the studio behind Merge Mansion, with the acquisition expected to close by end of September.

2/ Savvy Games Group CEO Brian Ward stepped down after 4 years, during which he oversaw $13bn of the group’s $38bn investment commitment. Turqi Alnowaiser steps in as interim CEO.

3/ Tencent Games showcased a six-tool AI portfolio at Gamescom, spanning 3D animation, in-game AI agents, and automated game testing.

4/ PeopleFun named Nicholas Le as its new CEO, while Tamara Feiman takes over Lion Studios, which he grew to nearly 5 billion installs.

5/ Judge Brinkema ruled Google won’t have to break up its ad tech business, rejecting the DOJ’s push to divest AdX and DFP, opting for behavioral remedies instead.

3/ Krafton’s ad-tech arm Neptune officially launched its India platform, taking over ad operations for BGMI’s 260 million users.

4/ Roblox rolled out new analytics and experimentation tools, letting creators test changes live and get alerts if playtime or revenue takes a hit.

5/ GDAI picked its first cohort of 15 studios for Supernova, a three-month incubation program backed by Tencent and Mintegral, from over 260 applicants.

Only 5% of gaming studios have a woman in leadership. Visibility grew, but the seats at the top barely moved.

Maryna Bondarenko, Director of Business Development at Fortis Games and a Women in Games ambassador since 2022, spoke with UndrAds to explore why, and what studios can actually do about it.

She brought years of BD experience across regions to the conversation to share her perspectives on fixing an all-male applicant pool, why she believes kindness is an underrated competitive edge in BD and much more.

Good trips are made from good conversations. 💙

Team UndrAds got a moment to sit with some amazing teams at SkyBull Gaming Studio, HM Games and Braly Joint Stock Company in Hanoi.

Getting to know the work these teams are doing, whether in mobile gaming or digital experiences, made our conversations even more meaningful.

Each of these studios inspired us with the kind of attention and dedication they are putting in their craft. Through the conversations and stories we exchanged, we could truly feel the passion these teams have for their work.

Thank you once again for your time, warmth and the amazing conversations.
