The Haunting // acrylic on canvas 80 x 60 cm

The artwork is shown today for it's first time at the Art Austria Art Fairs art show - today 25.04 / 2024, at the Museums Quartier Vienna. Check it out live at the Bakerhouse Gallery booth!

This acrylic painting reimagines an old novel cover, presenting a woman undergoing a chilling transformation into a werewolf lady. Her piercing gaze reaches into the distance as she stands in front of an eerie, Alfred Hitchcock-style mansion partly engulfed by leafless, ancient trees. This spooky setting is juxtaposed with the bright neon colors that dominate the painting, giving it a modern and vibrant twist.

The artwork serves as a contemporary interpretation of classic book covers, exploring the primal instincts within humans. The werewolf transformation symbolizes the animalistic side of our nature, while the haunting mansion represents the depths of our human subconscious. This painting invites viewers to contemplate the mysteries that lie within ourselves and the hidden corners of our minds.

Nachdem das Feedback zu diesem Werk enorm war, haben wir uns dazu entschieden einen Druck davon aufzulegen. Streng limitiert auf 10 Stück wird jeder Druck von mir nochmal von Hand übermalt um die dynamischen Farben nochmal zu verstärken. Der Druck kommt natürlich auch signiert, nummeriert und geprägt.

After the feedback on this work was so enormous, we decided to produce a print of it. Strictly limited to 10 pieces, each print is painted over by hand to further enhance of the the dynamic colors. The print also comes signed, numbered and embossed.

Much has happened!
