What a way to wrap up 2021! I’m incredibly honoured that Australian Style Institute named me 2021 Stylist of the Year at their recent Style Awards.

Thank you to Lauren Di Bartolo, Claire Jensen, Penny Votzourakis and the entire team at Australian Style Institute for this incredible recognition.

A big thank to those who nominated me, to my amazing clients, and all the creatives, talent and brands I've been fortunate to work with this year.

Congratulations to the other winners and to all the other finalists and nominees. I can't wait to see what incredible things the ASI community will achieve in 2022!

WOW! One of the images we created for the Melbourne Fashion Festival 'Creative Call Out' competition has been selected as a finalist - making the Top 15!

The brief was to create an image on a block-colour background, evoking the spirit of "joy" and showcasing Australian fashion. This image features a dress by emerging designer uurban.label.

I'd absolutely love your support for our entry by way of a vote in the PEOPLE'S CHOICE. It is the most simple two-step process which will take less than 20 seconds to complete.

Time to CELEBRATE! I'm so incredibly honoured to have won the 2020 "One to Watch" award.

Being the recipient of this award means so very much to me. It recognises the early traction I have made in my styling business which shows that, in line with the awards' 'In Full Bloom' theme, that "the seeds planted will bloom in seasons to come".

Ever since I stepped out of my training at ASI and styled my first personal styling client, I knew in my heart that the decision to take the leap - to go after my passion and invest in my styling education was the right one, and this recognition from my peers and the ASI team and mentors has confirmed this even more.

Taking the additional steps and heading back to ASI HQ in February to complete my Masters and Advanced Creative training was an absolute highlight in that it allowed me to up-level my styling skills and which saw me deliver style and personal branding workshops, style fashion editorials (two which were published in international fashion journals) and style for commercial campaigns in the later half of this year.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who nominated me for this award and to my amazing clients for trusting me. I am so grateful for all the support in the lead up to tonight and following the announcement.

Thank you to Lauren and Claire and the team for organising such a great celebration. Although virtual, the love and support from the community was felt. While it would have been so amazing to celebrate in person with you and so many dear friends, it was special to celebrate the win with my two biggest supporters and my husband.

Thank you ASI. I can't wait to see what incredible things the ASI community will achieve in 2021!

So much love for this Iris quote. 💫 😍

A few little reminders:

> Embrace your personal style and wear what makes you happy.

> Show up as the best version of yourself, not a carbon copy of someone else.

> Be you. Be unashamedly you.

> Don't follow a trend just to follow a trend or to keep up with others.
Before you buy into a trend, ask yourself:
1) does it suit me?
2) will I actually wear it?
3) does it fit in with my lifestyle?
4) does it tie in with other items and outfits I own?
5) do I feel amazing and happy in it?
If the answer is no - move along! You can still appreciate the trend or admire it on others without having to own it yourself.

> Never let anyone dull your sparkle.

> And remember "no one is you and that is your biggest power".

I feel so honoured to have been featured in the 'Meet the Fashion Stylist' series over at Cocktail Revolution.

A big thank you to Cocktail Revolution and in particular to Jacqui Miholos for the interview.

This has been a lovely way to end a challenging year - sharing my styling journey, style tips and highlighting some of the creative projects I've styled during 2020 where I've been fortunate to work with so many talented creatives and SA designers.

I'm so excited and absolutely blown away to have been nominated and then named as a finalist in two award categories in the
Australian Style Institute2020 Style Awards - the 'One To Watch' and 'Stylist of the Year'.

Thank you to Australian Style Institute and the ASI community. It's such an incredible honour to be recognised by my peers and mentors and to be acknowledged alongside so many incredible stylists.

I recently resigned from my part-time job so I could fully turn my focus to styling and offer more experiences and availability to my clients. Receiving this recognition means so much to me as I prepare to take my styling to the next level in 2021.

Congratulations to all who were nominated and best of luck to all the finalists! I'm looking forward to celebrating and connecting as a community at the virtual celebrations on 16 December.

Every year, the ASI Style Awards are held to celebrate the achievements and milestones made by our students and stylists.

This year’s theme "In Full Bloom" 🌻 is designed to highlight those who have cultivated, budded and blossomed throughout an extraordinary year.

We are thrilled to announce our 2020 finalists across each of our five award categories. A huge congratulations to each of you on your incredible recognition!

Winners will be announced at our virtual celebrations on December 16th. 🥂

As of midnight, if you leave the house (one person per household for essential food or medical supplies only), wearing a face mask will be required.

It’s also highly likely that we’ll be wearing them after the lockdown is over. So I’ve put together a list of local businesses who are making or selling re-usable and washable face masks over on my blog (link below).

You'll also find a few other useful tips on how to correctly wear a face mask in the article. Six years ago I worked in a comms manager role for a national science organisation, where I wrote about health and biosecurity (even about pandemic threats) so I couldn't help including that extra info. 😷

I'm wearing a handmade mask I purchased back in March from Adelaide designer Naomi Murrell Studios. As I write this, it's sold out, but similar designs are available over on her website.

I have no plans to leave the house today - no panic buying here, so this was as I set off for school pickup yesterday.

Victoria did their bit for a huge portion of this year, so together we can get through this and hopefully in time to have somewhat of a normal Christmas and end to the year.

Stay safe, stay home and keep SA safe.
SA - we've got this!

I’ve complied a list of local businesses across South Australia who are making or selling re-usable and washable face masks. As of midnight tonight, under circuit-breaker restrictions, when South Australians are allowed to leave the house once a day for essential items, wearing a face mask will be...

I'm excited to have been nominated for the 2020 SA Woman Australia Awards under the category of 'New Woman on the Block'.

One year ago I took the leap and completed the first step towards my styling qualifications - the face-to-face component of my Certificate of Professional Style & Image with Australian Style Institute in Melbourne. Exactly 364 days later, I found myself sitting at home at my laptop, completing the online SA Woman application form outlining my business growth, achievements and my future goals.

Even if I don't progress to the finalist stage, simply taking the time to stop and reflect one year on has been such a great exercise - thank you Carly for posing such great questions!

I'm so grateful for the support I've received over this past year from Lauren, Claire and the Australian Style Institute team and stylist community. And to everyone else who have supported me big or small, I really appreciate it more than you know.

Thank you to Carly and the SA Woman team, I'm excited and proud to be part of the amazing SA Woman community.

If you've ever wondered what it's like to study with Australian Style Institute or jump in and become a member of SA Woman, feel free to send me a DM - I'd happily answer any questions!
