For generations, has helped define Australian Cabernet. 🍷

Set on Coonawarra’s famed terra rossa soils, Wynns is one of those wineries that feels instantly recognisable, deeply rooted in history, yet constantly evolving with each vintage. From the old vineyards planted in the 1950s to the elegant, medium-bodied wines that have become its signature, everything here speaks of place, patience, and longevity.

And at the heart of that story is Sue Hodder.

After more than three decades at Wynns, Sue has become one of the most respected voices in Australian wine - recently recognised with induction into the James Halliday Hall of Fame, one of the industry’s highest honours.

Sitting down with Sue during my journey around Australia’s wine regions was one of those moments that stayed with me. There is a quiet confidence in the way she speaks about wine - never about trends or ego, always about the vineyards, the climate, and allowing Coonawarra to express itself naturally through the glass.

Wynns Coonawarra Estate is one of the wineries featured in One Land, Infinite Expressions - a journey through the people, places, and stories shaping Australia’s remarkable wine landscape. Now available at wandereditions.com🍇📖

Last week was one of my biggest highlights, both professionally and personally. A year ago I wasn’t sure how it would all come together as I chose to go down the self-publishing journey but today I am proud of having created something special to hold. My first published coffee table book.

Food & Wine have been in my life for a very long time so it was natural for me to document our journey around Australian wineries, rather than showing off beautiful landscapes. Don’t get me wrong. Australia is beautiful but for me capturing wineries we visited and people behind the brands was something more closer to my heart.

This book is not about awards and scores. I am not here to tell you where the best wines come from. I am here to share the faces behind the bottles and their stories: from humble beginnings to proudest achievements, daily struggles and more. It’s about the people in the wine industry: the winemakers, growers, cellar door managers, chefs and families who make these wineries what they are today.

Is this book perfect? Absolutely not. Self-publishing has been a huge learning curve and at times I questioned myself if this all was worth it: the long hours behind the screen, neglecting my health to meet the schedule which I set myself. But seeing this come to life, regardless, I am grateful for everyone who is featured in the book, everyone who supported me along the way and everyone who has bought the book so far - You’re the best! 🤗

Set among vines dating back to the 1930s, is a place where history is not only preserved, but experienced. 🍷

Beyond the cellar door, the estate unfolds into something more - a restaurant to linger over long lunches, a museum that traces its deep roots, and a chapel tucked among the vines, quietly hosting life’s most meaningful moments.

Sitting down with senior winemaker Marcello Fabretti, what stood out just as much as the wines was the storytelling. His path into winemaking wasn’t linear- from studying arts to working in hospitality, to vintages in Italy and across Australia, each chapter shaping the way he approaches wine today.

Through his stories, you begin to understand Nikola Estate on a deeper level - a place grounded in history, yet constantly evolving, with new varietals and ideas shaping its future.

Nikola Estate is one of the wineries featured in my book called One Land, Infinite Expressions that I worked on while travelling around Australia last year - a journey through the people, places, and stories shaping Australia’s wine landscape. 🍇📖 Pick up a copy soon from Nikola Estate in Swan Valley or order a copy online at wandereditions.com Use SHIPFREE for free shipping.

From skateboarding through barrel sheds as a kid to running the winery - some journeys feel almost written in the vines.

For Luke Tocaciu, is deeply personal. His father spent years working for others, always carrying the idea of building something of his own - a winery that could reflect both family and independence. That vision became reality in 1998.

After studying winemaking in Adelaide, working in the Barossa, and gaining experience overseas, Luke returned to Coonawarra in 2009 to work alongside his father. Just two vintages later, everything changed. Taking over at 29, he stepped into more than a role. He stepped into responsibility, legacy, and a business still finding its feet.

Today, that same long-term thinking continues to shape the wines. At Patrick, time is part of the process. Wines are held back, allowed to evolve, with the Grand Reserve range spending up to a decade before release - a rare commitment that speaks to both confidence and restraint.

This is one of the many stories featured in One Land, Infinite Expressions - a journey through the people, places, and philosophies shaping Australia’s wine landscape. Available for pre-orders now at wandereditions.com🍷📖

Moments in the nature from around the country.

While travelling around Australia, I didn’t really have a lens that would get me close to wildlife too much but that did not stop me from clicking a few shots here and there. Let me know in comments below which one is your favourite. 👇

I don’t know about you but flowers make me happy. While receiving flowers from someone is special, nothing stops you from buying flowers to yourself. Walking home to beautiful flowers feels good and definitely lifts the mood.

Katrin and Andrea from grow flowers for living. I reckon it must be one of the best jobs out there. Not easy but highly rewarding because essentially you get to make people happy.

I was lucky to spend some time with them on their beautiful flower farm on our way up and down the Queensland coast and capturing both the people behind the brand and the flowers.

Are you a farmer or a producer and need some eye catching imagery to tell your story, I would love to work with you to help bring your story to life.

Sometimes all it takes is stepping onto a piece of land… and just knowing it’s the one.

When Wendy and Barry Stimpson discovered what is now in Margaret River, they weren’t actively planning to buy a vineyard. It was more of a dream than a plan - until they found this place.

The land, the vines, the surrounding bushland… something just clicked. They fell in love with it on the spot and ended up buying it.

Today, Passel Estate is known for its small-batch, single-vineyard wines and a deep respect for the land. Together with winemaker Bruce Dukes, a well-known name in the wine industry, they focus on a gentle, minimal intervention approach that lets the vineyard speak for itself.

But it’s not just about the wine. The property is also home to a conservation sanctuary, including a habitat for native possums - something that makes this place feel even more special.

Passel Estate is one of the wineries featured in my book, and stories like this are exactly why I wanted to create it in the first place - capturing the people, the passion, and the moments where everything changes with a single decision.

Sometimes you don’t plan it. You just feel it and go all in.

Discover Wendy & Barry’s story and 41 other wineries’ story in One Land, Infinite Expressions available for pre-orders now through www.wandereditions.com
