Redline Raceway Debut Done Right.
Our first outing at Redline Raceway ticked all the right boxes, highlighted by a clean night with zero spanners required. That’s always a win in our books.
Heat 1B saw us roll off from P2, and from the drop of the green, it was game on. A solid launch put us into the lead before turn one, only for an early yellow to bring everything back for a full restart. On the second go, we repeated the effort straight to the front by turn one and leading the opening lap with Jacob Vuillermin (V1) glued to our bumper. We made V1 earn every inch of P1 before he finally slipped through, after which the focus shifted to defence. Scott Whittle (RDL6) applied pressure from behind, and although we dropped back another spot, we kept it clean and consistent to bring it home P3. A strong opener, and holding V1 at bay for a lap was a highlight.
Heat 2B had us starting 11th, right at the back of the bus. With plenty of traffic ahead, patience was key. A few laps in, we’d worked our way up to 7th, and following a disqualification ahead, we were classified 6th at the flag.
The Final was always going to be a challenge, lining up 10th on an increasingly slick surface. The top line was where the grip lived, and we had to hustle the car hard to stay in the fight. Early laps saw us slip back to 11th, then 12th, before a series of yellows shuffled the deck. With 17 to go, a blown motor for an OOS teammate brought us forward to 9th for the restart. Still searching for a consistent line, we held position until another incident with nine laps remaining advanced us to 8th, where we ultimately finished. Not without a fight.
Overall, it was a night full of solid battles, big learning, and plenty of smiles. The car felt strong, predictable, and comfortable doing exactly what we needed it to do. We had an absolute ball out there.
Massive thanks, as always, to Mum, Dad, John, Dylan, and Katie for the constant support and backing us every step of the way.
