Marketing advice is only useful when it matches the problem you are actually trying to solve.

Before you try another tactic, ask this, what does my business need next?

Save this for the next time you feel overwhelmed by expert opinions.

Signs your marketing is dehydrated, not dry 💧

It is not that your marketing is boring, it might just be dehydrated.

Signs include:

💧Your posts are showing up, but not saying much.

💧Your content looks good, but does not move people closer to buying.

💧Your captions are giving “we exist” instead of “here is why you need us.”

💧Your audience is watching, but not engaging.

💧Your strategy is surviving on trends, vibes and the occasional Canva template.

💧Your offers are there… somewhere.

💧Your proof is hiding in your camera roll.

💧Your email list has not heard from you since last financial year.

💧Your website copy sounds nice, but does not answer the questions your customers are actually asking.

💧Your content calendar is full, but your enquiry form is not.

Dry marketing has no potential. Dehydrated marketing just needs the right things added back in.

Clarity.
Strategy.
Proof.
Consistency.
Conversion.

So before you throw the whole marketing plan out, ask yourself is it dry or does it just need a drink?

You do not have a content problem.

You have a missing middle.

Attention is great, but it is not the full growth path.

Your content needs to build trust, answer objections and create enquiries too.

Save this before you plan another week of random posts.

26/05/2026

Your next customer might not land on your website first.

They might ask ChatGPT, check reviews, search Google, scroll Reddit, then decide.

So your content needs to answer questions before they are asked.

Help them choose you.

Save this for your next content planning session.

Your marketing is not broken. It might just be busy.

Comment FIX below and let us talk about what is actually going on.

We've all done it.

Hit send on a comment, immediately spotted the typo, and had to choose between leaving it there or deleting the whole thing and hoping no one saw.

Instagram finally fixed that. You can now edit your comments after posting.

Small update. Genuinely overdue.

Google recently announced a new penalty and your website might be affected.

It's called back-button hijacking and if you've never heard of it, here's what it means in plain English.

When someone visits your website and tries to hit the back button to return to Google, some sites block that. They trap the user, forcing them to stay on the page whether they want to or not.

Google has decided that's manipulative and they're right.

From June 15, 2026 any website doing this risks being penalised. That means lower rankings, less visibility, less traffic.

Three things to do right now:
→ Ask your web developer if your site uses any redirect tricks on the back button
→ If you're not sure, get someone to check before June 15
→ If it does, get it removed immediately

This isn't a complex fix. But ignoring it could do real damage to where you show up in search.

Google's direction is consistent: build for users, not for manipulation. The sites that do that well will always come out on top.

Not sure if your site is affected? Drop us a message and we'll point you in the right direction.

We keep having the same conversation with brand owners.

They're doing everything they were told to do. Reach. Rankings. Ad spend.

And it's working less than it used to.

Because the brief changed. Machines are now part of the audience. Citations matter more than clicks. Clarity beats budget.

The brands figuring this out now are going to look very different in 12 months.
