SHORTCHANGED

Letā€™s talk about
Being ripped off
By the thousands of those
That live at the top

Those that have money
To shake from the poor
That live in their luxuries
And rules of the law

They know the right movements
To justify wealth
While the minor majorities
Are left on a shelf

Theyā€™ll strip your last dollar
To buy their next house
And say in your honour
ā€œWe couldnā€™t of helpedā€

Yetā€¦
They fought in a court
And made millions of bucks
While they gathered your losses
And left you with shrugs

The thousands of those
That thought that they mattered
Was left with a loss
Or a car that were shatteredā€¦

They werenā€™t going to be brought
Sold or maintained
The higher on up
The lower you gainedā€¦

They got you in weakness
They distorted your truth
And not once had they listened
But left you uncouthā€¦

Their heads were held high
Their dress was maintained
And back to their luxuries
With the money they gainedā€¦

Butā€¦
The struggle is real
For those left dismayed
Theyā€™re now paying a price
Of an overhead laid

And the moment was years
The timing made dull
For the outcome of loss
That they couldnā€™t foretell

PORTICO TO AN OPEN WINDOW

My soul flew to amazing heights
I felt a mountain of emotions escaping the aftermath of a prisoner
That had longed for the freedom of a formation to a universe
Situated, just outside my windowā€¦

I opened it with glee

I travelled those heights
I found myself floating
Capturing the width and scope of a luxurious wilderness
Where, just out of my reach
Innocence rose to the freedom of choiceā€¦

And I was on top of the world

THE GIFT IS RIGHTEOUSNESS

It is in peace and quietness that I draw near to Godā€¦
My words of inspiration are not drawn from my own abilities of languageā€¦
For it wasnā€™t in education that these things were taughtā€¦
Only through the Spirit of Christ was I given a chance to succeed in vocabularyā€¦
Where once had I trodden illiterateā€¦
I myself was surprised by articulate words with perseverance of abilityā€¦
And it is not human interference that pays my intuitionā€¦
But it is with the Spirit of peace that guides me into all deliverance with a price that outweighs anything money can buyā€¦
And my thankfulness to this advantage is my payment to Jesus Christ for saving my life.
This is His inheritanceā€¦
In His name I writeā€¦
