Ancient Threads.nwt & Ourootz have decided to stand within our mana. As brands who actively live within their culture. We are proud to stand in spaces, being Indigenous/Polynesian.etc

It starts with us.

A conversation that spans oceans/lands & tribes. When this collection was created, we wanted more then just words. Colours/People/Moko old & new.

Anything is possible with a shared vision.

The collection has 2 designs available on shirts/crews/jumpers. As well as exclusive designs only found on tote bags @ instagram : ancientthreads.nwt
Living & breathing.

Whero.

Red speaks about the life of the people. The bloodlines that carry knowledge/tradition/practices through the generations.
The everflowing evergrowing expansion.

Mā.

White reminds us of the spirit. The energies utilised every day. The ancestor’s who have come & gone. The lessons that continue to teach us. Never alone, always supported.

Last night was a situation quite common in our culture. Some of us grew up in tradition, some did not & others are in this state of reclamation.

This state of revitalisation/rejuvenation has been present now for a solid 100+ years in our culture. Knowledge is power and if you can't do it or don't know how to do it. Communicate that to people who can.

Don't be shy/weary/anxious/uncertain.etc. Know there are some of us who live and breathe the culture everyday. Ancient Threads.nwt
pride ourselves on this very nature.

Again we would love to just express the brilliance that was last night. A big thank you to the Logan art gallery and to the supportive people in our corner.

Ngā kākahu o te tupuna

Ancient Threads.nwt had the beautiful pleasure of designing a full look for the Whakawhanaungatanga art exhibition showing at the starting this Friday 20th of October.

Yet another highpoint in our brands life experiences so far. From the unified abilities of a family to the Lives/Posts/Stories you all witness today. Art galleries/Fashion shows/Collections.
All in 8-9months. " If you can breath, you can work "

Our pieces featured here will be worn by whom without it " Just being a kakahu " we wouldn't have had the opportunity. As you are aware they have been present on our socials through the reading of their tell-all/memoir/novel & carving work.

As a featured artist, a collection of their work will be showing at the gallery from 18th of October till the 25th of November 2023.
