How Personal Trainers and Fitness Companies Can Add Muscle to Their Website.

You have to excuse me for a minute.

I just did 1,000 pushups and am slightly out of breath.

While I recover from my strenuous workout, I want to tell you about how personal trainers and local fitness companies can add a considerable amount or muscle to their website.

No, you don’t have to be able to bench press 330 lbs. Instead, focus on creating a blog that engages readers. As an owner of FoxxHouse, I’ve noticed us sign multiple clients that are involved in the fitness industry. Whether they sell supplements, gear, or offer personal/group training classes, every one of them can enjoy the benefits of an engaging blog.

According to the Labor Department, the number of personal trainers grew by 44% from 2001 to 2011. It is clear that more people are turning away from franchises, to join local gyms where they can receive guidance from experienced trainers who know what they’re doing. Gym/training center owners are turning to internet marketing to get their business out in the open in order to increase their ROI. As business grows, SEO will help their online visibility grow. One of the factors to a successful internet marketing strategy is content. Great content will make you an authority in your field.

One of the ways for these fitness business owners can become an authority on their field is by introducing blogs with creative content. They can even build up their YouTube channel and add videos for additional content.

The fitness industry is continuing to grow, and so is the amount of people searching for valuable content. Figuring out ideas for your blog isn’t difficult as the fitness community offers many topics. You can mix up what you are posting by keeping visitors to your site intrigued. One week you can post a list and another week you can answer a question you’ve been getting asked a lot. The same rules of a blog apply to videos as well. Here is a basic list of things you could write about to get you started:

· The 20 Best Songs to Listen to While Working Out

· How Strength Training is Making the World a Better Place

· How to Start Working Out

The ideas are endless! The best thing about writing blogs is that there are no rules and you can get as creative as you want. Also, if you are promoting a strength challenge or competition at your gym, you can feel free to write about that as well.

A great example of someone in the fitness community who has taken advantage of his website and YouTube channel is Elliott Hulse. He has become the number 1 authority in his field and shows up on the first page of Google when people search for various topics regarding working out. He has been able to do this because he dedicates his time to update his blog and YouTube channel on a daily basis. People see new content on his pages every day and continue to go to his pages because they know they will find the best content. You can view his YouTube channel and his website at:

Gym/fitness center owners can also take advantage of their blogs and YouTube channels by consistently posting valuable content so they can become the authority in the fitness industry.

Now I must go. I forgot, its leg day here at FoxxHouse. NEVER SKIP LEG DAY!

How to Improve Your LinkedIn Profile

Is your LinkedIn profile all it could be?

Are you taking advantage of some of LinkedIn’s special features?

If a social media channel isn’t working for you, you’re wasting time.

In this post you’ll discover how to optimise your own profile and find more connections using your LinkedIn network.

#1: Find Hidden User Information
Have you ever used LinkedIn’s advanced search option and gotten a result that doesn't give you the full name?

It’s frustrating when you find the perfect person to connect with, but can’t see all of his or her information without upgrading your account.

Luckily, there’s a workaround: When you share a hidden LinkedIn profile with one of your own connections, you’ll be able to see the complete profile in your Sent mailbox.

#2: Include Keywords in Job Titles
Is there a social platform where keywords aren’t an important part of updates and profiles? On LinkedIn, most users include keywords in their headline, but they don’t always use them in their job titles.

Your Job Title field gives you 100 characters—use them! Any keywords you’ve identified for your headline benefit you in your Job Title field as well.

#3: Leverage the Find Alumni Feature
In general, we like familiarity. We trust others who have shared experiences or backgrounds.

On LinkedIn, that trust is often skewed toward others who attended our same college or university. (Perhaps the only thing we’re more loyal to than our school is our sports teams!)

If you aren’t using the Find Alumni tool on LinkedIn, you’re missing out on getting some seriously preferential treatment. The Find Alumni tool is under Network on your toolbar.

Bonus: Connect Offline
Meeting, connecting and working with people on social channels is our everyday. Unfortunately, it’s easy to forget that the people we’re connecting with are more than just a name and picture on our screen. We get used to only interacting with others online.

If you want to get the most out of your network and make an impression, put in an effort to meet offline. Online conversations are simply not sufficient to build a network and get results.

Conclusion

If you’re not using LinkedIn to its full potential, you’re missing out on important networking opportunities. A few changes in how you use the platform—and how you connect—can make all the difference.

Why Commit to Your Fans

Do your fans feel like they know you?

Do you show genuine interest in your audience?

People connect with others when there’s an emotional tie.

In this post you’ll discover how to use four traits to win audience engagement and help your business thrive.

Being a good virtual citizen requires basic housekeeping like thanking people for engaging with you and promoting excellent content.

But if that’s the only effort you’re putting out there, it’s likely you have low engagement because your audience doesn’t have a true connection with you. They can tell you’re just going through the motions.

To have true, consistent engagement, your audience needs to feel like you’re investing in them—not just doing your job.

Below I discuss each of the four traits of successful community managers and how you can develop them yourself.

#1: Express Vulnerability to Connect
People like to help and support each other, so giving someone an opportunity to feel valuable and useful is a good way to strengthen a relationship. When you admit you’re wrong, don’t know something or need ideas, others respond to that vulnerability. They want to help.

#2: Offer Generous Promotion and Sharing
Give, give, give. Give information. Give laughs. Give support. Give your time.

The way to the hearts of your fans and followers is to give generously—your attention and your expertise—with no expectation of reciprocation. Make it clear that you have no intention other than being useful and building stronger relationships.

#3: Build Trust with Consistent Interaction
Being interactive means being part of your own community. Talk to people. Respond to them. Greet followers and contacts, thank someone for contributing to the conversation and respond to tags and mentions.

#4: Make Personality Part of the Package
For the most part, community managers and social media marketers who work for big corporations have little to no choice in how they present themselves or the information they share.

If you have the chance to integrate a little personality with your updates, take advantage of it! Showing the real you makes a big difference in how your followers or contacts perceive you. People like doing things for and with people they like.

Conclusion

At the end of the day, being authentic and connecting with your audience as a person and not just a business gets the job done.

Being aware of the way you present yourself to your fans means you can guide the interaction so it benefits everyone and ensures your online relationships don’t become stagnant.

What do you think?

Do you use any of these emotional triggers to enhance engagement?

How has your audience responded?
