We received and commissioned our new Creality K1 Max today, and boy is it fast!

Aside from a minor technical glitch that resulted in my being showered in glass, it’s a fantastic printer.

UPDATE: “Molly” has been adopted!

“Molly” is a long-term resident of ours who has been in care for a whopping 186 days 🥺🐾

We do not want to see her reach her 200th day, so please continue to share her post far and wide. We are really struggling with trying to rehome her as she can’t go to a home with other animals. It’s a heartbreaking situation for everyone and poor “Molly” deserves so much more. She’s a super sweet, fun and active dog who is adored by all the staff at the surgery. “Molly” promises to be your loyal and energetic adventure buddy who will bring limitless joy to your life. Please read her adoption profile below in full and call us on 3264 7700 if you’re interested in arranging a meet and greet! 🙏🏡❤️

Adoption Profile:
Say a big hello to beautiful “Molly” the 2 year old Staffy X Cattle Dog! “Molly” has been a patient of the surgery since she was a pup and has been surrendered to our care for rehoming. Unfortunately, there have been fights between “Molly” and her elderly Staffy sister in the home. “Molly” was the instigator of these fights and sadly both dogs have been injured because of it. As a result, the tough decision was made to find “Molly” another caring and compassionate home without other doggos where she can live life to the fullest. “Molly” is a super friendly, energetic and affectionate girl who is fantastic with people. She would make a great companion for a family and would like to be an inside/outdoor dog. She will require an experienced dog owner who will be able to fulfil her daily needs of exercise, mental enrichment, basic obedience training and of course lots of fun. “Molly” can’t wait to find that special family or person who will give her unconditional love, attention and allow her to become the very best version of herself. We would truly appreciate it if everyone could please share “Molly’s” post far and wide to help us get her as much exposure on Facebook as possible!

Adoption Cost:
“Molly’s” adoption fee is $250. She is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, flea treated and vet checked.

At the moment, we are down to only one resin printer. Our FDM machine has died and is not capable of being fixed.

At this stage we will not be replacing it. As hard as this is to reconcile, the ubiquity of 3D printing now has created a race to the bottom that we cannot sustain.

We will continue to do resin work and will keep going with CNC jobs until further notice.

Amazing use of 3D Printing

17 year-old Monica is starting the new year with the ability to return to grade 12 stress-free, resume training to get her licence, and take up some more dancing and even weights at the gym after the TPCH cardiothoracic team fixed her heart through a special PEARS procedure.

Monica and her family made the trip from Adelaide for our specialist heart team's skills, where TPCH doctors 3D printed Monica's aorta (pictured) and prevented it from rupturing, which would have been catastrophic if untreated.

"After the surgery, they told my mum how thin my aorta was and I was so surprised and shocked but also grateful for my mum, who found Dr Williams and really pushed for this to happen – it saved my life," Monica said.

“I was pretty excited that they could help me out, they 3D printed an exact shape of my aorta – and then they just stitched it on, my heart and lungs were working the entire time during the operation!" ❤️
