Building the foundation of a specialist brand.

Before launching Mandalay Specialist Centre’s website, we needed a visual identity that would set the tone for everything to follow.

For Dr Nyan Lynn’s new neurology clinic in Melbourne’s west, I created a clean, typographic logo featuring a stylised medical cross within the “S” of MSC). The logo was developed into a brand pattern, and accompanied with a calming suite of cool brand colours to allow some visual flexibility and cohesiveness with MSC’s branded materials.

This brand identity became the anchor for the clinic’s signage, print materials, and digital presence, ensuring every touchpoint felt consistent and professional. The aim?
Clarity for patients. Confidence for referrers.

The project goals were to:
– Differentiate the clinic’s visual branding from similarly named practices nearby.
– Develop a brand style guide to keep future materials on-brand.

Launching a specialist clinic with clarity and confidence.

Dr Nyan Lynn needed a professional brand and online presence for his new neurology clinic in Melbourne’s west.

After getting to understand MSC’s needs and business goals, I got to work designing a visual identity, logo design, print materials, and a responsive website.

Goals of the project were to:
– Differentiate the clinic from similarly named practices nearby.
– Support GP referrals and patient trust.
– Highlight Dr Lynn’s areas of practice.

Brand identity package designed for Simple Decor by Sue Crowley (), including logo design, brand colour palette, printed stationery and a fresh new website.

Simple Decor is an eclectic collection of Georgian, Victorian, Art Nouveau and Art Deco-era artefacts, operating from Shop 24 at , Mayfield.

The challenge was to design a logo that could serve as a unifying identity for a very wide range of Sue’s eclectic antique collection. After reviewing a handful of stylistic possibilities, and hearing about Sue’s keen interest in her Art Nouveau pieces, the chosen direction was a “simple” yet bold logotype containing an air of French sophistication. The illustrated pot serves as a secondary/optional element to the logo that injects a bit of approachability and playfulness to the otherwise formal, Art Nouveau serif typeface.

Simple Decor is an eclectic collection of Georgian, Victorian, Art Nouveau and Art Deco-era artefacts, operating from Shop 24 at , Mayfield.

Website:
An existing website had been in development, though was difficult to navigate and lacked a clear visual identity. It needed a rethink in terms of its product menus, which had consisted of multiple sets of disjointed product category listings. Eclectic collections can be hard to categorise!

The client wanted a simple system for her to update and maintain her business online (especially during the pandemic lockdown), so a new site was designed and built using Squarespace as a means for making simple content updates within a framework of clean, on-brand templates.

The once-complicated product categories have since been simplified into a logical set of Collections, which the client can update with relative ease, including managing a secondary menu of collections-at-a-glance in the website footer.
