Following the press call, we went in separate directions to showcase Western Australia through a series of tailored famil experiences, each designed to highlight a different side of the destination.

From Fremantle’s Italian heritage and coastal hospitality with Palermo FC, to Swan Valley wines and native wildlife with AC Milan legend Christian Panucci, the itineraries brought WA’s visitor offering to life off the pitch.

Inter and Juventus also experienced the State Buildings before taking part in a Kings Park cultural tour, exploring Noongar culture, storytelling and connection to Country.

Four football legends were front and centre in Perth today as Christian Vieri, Edgar Davids, Christian Panucci and Simone Barone joined Deputy Premier Hon Rita Saffioti and Tourism Minister Reece Whitby for a special Calcio Italiano press call ahead of this August’s event.

The event also gave local teams the chance to meet the legends, bringing the next generation of players into the excitement as Perth prepares to host one of world football’s great weeks.

Calcio Italiano will bring AC Milan, Inter, Juventus and Palermo to Optus Stadium this August, with the Milano Derby on 5 August, Juventus v Inter on 8 August, and Juventus v Palermo on 11 August.

South Perth is coming to life with colour!

The No More Blank Walls Mural Festival is officially underway, transforming the City of South Perth into a vibrant outdoor gallery until Saturday, 18 April.

Across South Perth, Manning, Karawara and Kensington, artists are painting large-scale murals live, turning everyday spaces into bold public artworks.

Featuring internationally renowned Irish muralist Aches alongside an incredible lineup of local and national talent, this is your chance to see creativity in action.

Perth is front and centre as the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 gets underway.

With the Matildas opening the tournament at Perth Stadium on Sunday, the next few weeks will see some of Asia’s best teams compete across ten matches, leading to the semi-final on 17 March. Millions are watching worldwide, putting WA’s sporting venues and event capability in the spotlight.

This week brings two major double headers.

Japan v Chinese Taipei | 1.00pm
Vietnam v India | 7.00pm

Japan, the highest ranked team in Asia, begin their campaign against three-time winners Chinese Taipei. Vietnam then face India, who return to the tournament after a strong qualifying run that saw them score 24 goals in four matches.

The menu reimagines traditional Greek cuisine through a Western Australian lens: warm house-baked bread, vibrant meze, fire-kissed lamb tomahawk with tyrokafteri, mizithra dumplings with zucchini blossom, and slow-roasted lamb shoulder designed to share.

Executive Chef Aaron Moore brings Mediterranean influence shaped by time spent cooking in Greece and years leading respected kitchens in Australia.
