I'm 1 today 🎉
Starting my business has been the best decision I've ever made. It wasn't because I had all the answers or a foolproof plan. It was because I backed myself, trusted my gut and believed I was capable of building something more.
This year has taught me that growth isn't always comfortable. When you choose to better yourself, you'll inevitably ruffle a few feathers along the way. Not everyone will understand your decisions, and that's okay. If it were easy, everyone would do it.
There have been so many moments worth celebrating over the past 12 months, but one still gives me goosebumps.
In my previous job, I'd been going back and forth about when to take the leap into my business full-time. I genuinely thought I was doing the right thing by being honest and letting my employer know that in a few months I'd be moving on.
That conversation didn't go the way I expected.
Instead of leaving a few months later, I resigned effective immediately.
It was terrifying, but something incredible happened.
That very same day, I signed my first retainer client.
The value of that retainer matched the salary of the job I'd just walked away from. Whether you call it fate, timing or the universe rewarding me for backing myself, it felt like confirmation that I'd made the right decision
One year later, that client is still with me.
To every client who has trusted me, every person who has referred me, supported me, and encouraged me, thank you. You've helped turn my leap into the most rewarding year of my career.
