Hospitality is teamwork.

It’s long hours, constant movement, pressure, problem solving, and somehow still making people feel welcomed and cared for when they walk through the door.

You can teach skills, but hospitality itself? That has to be in your blood.

Chef Stephen comes from a training background and many moons ago, he actually owned himself. So there’s something really lovely about seeing the restaurant back in good hands again, surrounded by a team who genuinely care about the experience they create.

The banter, the trust, the rhythm between generations, it’s what gives places like this their soul.

And honestly, you can feel that when you dine there 🤍

When we watch our clients grow and celebrate birthdays it makes us happy. We have supported DFSmokeHaus from the beginning and will continue to do so. Happy birthday you legends.

🎂 Today is our 5th Birthday! 🎂

We’re calling it Five Years of Flavour, because we keep coming up with new deliciousness and we’re not about to stop!

We have just clicked over 145,000 units made, and it’s feeling good.

(What’s even more amazing is that at our 4th birthday we had just ticked over 100,000 units total… meaning we’ve produced another 45,000 units in the last 12 months alone — a 45% increase in just one year!)

Karen and I deeply thank Albert, Ellen and Alice for helping us along. We also thank all those that have shared, supported, and promoted our journey.

It’s crazy times, this isn’t easy, and every little bit helps more than you know.

So here’s to many more Birthdays to come!

These last two days I have put a lot of energy into sharing who I am with lots of new faces. To me in person networking is where the true connections occur.

This morning I reconnected with amazing humans from Toowoomba.com.au business partners that Brendan Goleby and Nury Barros have created over the last many years. My voice is hoarse but heart is full. I got to ask many how can I help them in my business capacity and not just as a photographer but also as a friend and business colleague. I got to ask what is blocking them right now?

Now it is off with the heels and into the studio for the day with Gondwana Macadamias . Love my world I am choosing.

Have an amazing Friday whatever you are doing

Have you been to yet?
If you have, what’s the meal you still think about?

Because the best food has a way of doing that. One bite and suddenly you’re reminiscing about a holiday, dreaming about Italy, or planning your next trip before dessert even arrives.

Food carries memory, emotion, and places with it. That’s part of what makes dining out feel so special.

Little pockets of Italy, right here at your table

One of the most beautiful parts of creating Immersion Stories is seeing businesses through the eyes of the people who built them.

There’s always something deeper sitting underneath the product itself. A family history. A personal sacrifice. Pride in the process. A connection to the land. A way of doing things that has been shaped over years, sometimes generations.

That’s the part I’m interested in capturing.

While photographing at Golden Grove Estate in Stanthorpe, I was reminded how powerful it is when a business allows people to step inside its world. You don’t just see a vineyard or a cellar door, you feel the atmosphere, the care, the story unfolding behind the scenes.

That emotional connection matters. It’s what helps people remember you long after they’ve scrolled past another advertisement.

Immersion Stories are created for businesses wanting to share more than what they sell. They’re for businesses wanting people to understand who they are.

Congrats to our deputy mayor for piping at the post with cook off. Our judges Anna from and Jess from had a hard time choosing which one of the creations won. Anna had a hard time keeping Geoff in line as he worked the crowd. A true entertainer.

Great rivalry in the cookoff with and . Congrats to Trevor on being victorious this time using a range of local produce to create a sweet dish with a little coaching from the audience.
