One year ago, Tasmania launched its container deposit scheme, Recycle Rewards, and it has already passed 115 million returned containers.

That's a lot of cans, bottles, and cartons, and a genuinely significant environmental outcome for the state.

We're proud to have played a role in it. We built the impact calculator and live dashboard for Recycle Rewards, giving Tasmanians a real-time window into what the scheme is actually achieving: containers returned, carbon saved, energy recovered, and how their community is contributing.

115 million containers. 9,205 cars off the road for a year. More than $260K donated to charities and community groups.

The numbers mean something when you can see them.

Congratulations to the team at Tasrecycle and on a remarkable first year. We can't wait to see what year two impact looks like.

What a night on Saturday!

We're thrilled that the West Coast Wilderness Railway took home the website category at the 12th Annual Diemen Awards.

This was a project built on trust and collaboration — with a brilliant client in Gemma and the team, and stunning cinematography from Tom Chapman at that was recognised as a finalist in its own right.

Proud of everyone who had a hand in this one.

A thank you to the whole committee for a wonderful evening celebrating Tasmania's creative community.

Why are we even here? That’s a pretty big question …

We’ve been asking ourselves at Ionata why we are here and what are we really good at over the last six months.

And what we came up with, the thread that runs through all our projects is this.

We build digital products that empower those who need them most.

That really captured what we’re passionate about. Building websites, apps and platforms that make a difference and support organisations who make an impact in their communities.

That message is going to be core about how we work and talk about ourselves going forward and would couldn’t think of a better place to launch this new focus than TasICT’s Tas TechFest.

Come and say hello to us if you’re in Hobart today. You’ll see our branded cubes!

Big thanks to Sam Moffat from Mulch for helping us step back and see what was really important about our work.

Congrats to Russell Kelly and the TasICT committee on another fabulous event. We’re delighted to continue to support everything TasICT does for the technology community in Tasmania.

Just look “natural” … no, not like that!

Big thanks to Nina Hamilton for doing her very best to make the Ionata team smile and look at the camera all at the same time.

It’s tough work getting out from behind our computers but I think the results were worth it.

Also, why is it that there isn't a place to put your hands that feels normal!?

Hamlet is a Tasmanian social enterprise delivering individualised training, work readiness and wrap-around support to people with disability, neurodivergence, and mental health concerns who are experiencing barriers to employment.

They create meaningful employment opportunities for those who need support, and they asked us to tell that story better - to show what they do, why it matters, and bring their brand to life in a bolder, brighter way.

Participants are front and centre of everything Hamlet does, so we put people at the heart of the story. Supported by video from , we highlighted the participants experiences at Hamlet - we celebrated the skills, confidence and independence they’ve developed through the various training programs that offers.

Clear storytelling and accessible content help visitors quickly grasp Hamlet's impact - whether they're discovering the café for the first time, supporting the vision, or exploring partnership opportunities.

The site makes confident use of Hamlet’s brand. Bold colour, friendly typography and warm imagery create a welcoming feel that reflects the café itself. We structured information about the café, its programs and vision to be easy to find and understand, with accessibility considered throughout. The result feels inclusive, approachable and intuitive for everyone.

We built the site on a flexible CMS that empowers the Hamlet team to manage content with ease. We make updates trouble-free and sustainable long term - ensuring websites stay current and useful long after launch.

The finished website tells Hamlet's story with care and puts people first, supporting their vision to create lasting impact through hospitality training.

🏆 What an incredible night at the TasICT Excellence Awards! We're absolutely thrilled to have won Best ICT Initiative or Industry Collaboration alongside our amazing partners Metro Tasmania, Loop Foundry, Department of State Growth (Tas), and Mattersoft for the Real-Time Passenger Information System.

Presenting the Metro Tasmania team with this trophy in front of a fantastic bus wrapped in Metro Tas app advertising was such a special moment - it perfectly captured what this project has achieved! 🚌📱

In just six months, we've gone from concept to a system that processes 1.3 million daily location updates and serves over 30,000 monthly users (a incredible 600% increase!). But beyond the impressive numbers, this project has genuinely transformed how Tasmanians experience public transport, making journeys more reliable and accessible for everyone.

This award belongs to every single person who contributed to making real-time bus tracking a reality across Hobart, Launceston, and Burnie. The collaboration between all our partners has been absolutely phenomenal, and we couldn't be prouder to be part of this game-changing initiative.

Huge thanks to TasICT for recognising this project and for celebrating the incredible work happening in Tasmania's ICT sector! 🙌
