Wrapped up a nice little package recently for the new Apéro Bistro at Spring Vale Vineyard in Cranbrook. Logo, brand guidelines and signage all came together for their launch.

The signage is up and it’s great seeing the brand in its new home among the vines. Apéro Bistro is led by chef Stephen Kean, bringing French-inspired cooking and a focus on local Tasmanian produce to the table.

If you’re heading to the the coast, they’re open for lunch Wednesday to Sunday, 11 to 4, just outside Swansea.

2005.

I’d just got my first digital camera, a Minolta A1, and was sent on assignment for Sauce Magazine, where I was working as a graphic designer, to shoot the Tasmanian Rock Challenge at the Albert Hall.

Looking back it feels like stepping into that moment again. I still support the Rock Challenge now as a proud sponsor. It’s amazing to see how much the event has grown and how it keeps inspiring young musicians.

This Saturday, the Royal Oak is the place to be! Two of Tassie’s best bands – who I’m lucky to call friends – are hitting the stage for a Christmas charity gig that’s all about giving back.

We’re raising funds for the Launceston General Hospital Children’s Ward and for David Blanch, a beloved former TasTAFE music teacher who recently lost his home in a fire.

The Embers, Tassie legends since 2005, bring their raw energy and good vibes, having shared stages with the likes of Violent Femmes and Marcia Hines. The Dads, a nine-piece soul-rock juggernaut, are fresh off big stages like Blues at Bridgetown and are heading to Woodford Folk Festival over New Year’s.

I’m stoked to be supporting this event and can’t wait to see everyone come together for an epic night of live music and community spirit.
