I wasn’t actually planning on writing about Business Alignment Sessions this week.. last week’s branding post got me thinking about the workshop I held at The Ultimate Girls Weekend where I met Balance & Nurture.

It was called Business as Ceremony and really it was about looking at your business as something you’re in relationship with.

We talked about what felt good, what felt stagnant, what felt ready to move and what your business might be asking from you. Everyone chose a crystal and I gave them a few questions.

Posting Emily’s branding brought me back to that because I’ve realised that this way of working has become such a big part of Alahara even though I didn’t really set out for it to.

My own business went through a pretty huge shift. I remember making cacao for a client session when my business guide dropped in and told me she was leaving. I was fu***ng devastated and also so excited. It was such a strange thing to feel both of those things at once. There was grief because I was saying goodbye to something that had been with me from the beginning but there was also this huge sense of excitement because I knew something was changing.

I didn’t know what was happening before that. I just knew things felt a bit off. I’d felt stagnant. My work had slowed down and energetically something didn’t feel right but I didn’t know that my business was evolving in the way that it was. I definitely wasn’t thinking about meeting a new business deva…

And honestly, she’s beautiful. That whole experience has changed the way I work and how I look at it.

I really do believe our businesses have their own energy. They shift with us. Sometimes they need us to move. Sometimes they need us to stop. Sometimes something just doesn’t feel right and we don’t actually know why yet.

And I think that’s where my Business Alignment Sessions came from. They honestly kind of created themselves.

People would come to me with a question about marketing, direction, feeling creatively overwhelmed or not knowing what the next step was and we’d start talking.

Whether it’s practical, intuitive, spiritual or full blown ceremony there is always something here for you.

Come sit and listen..

Earlier this year I met Emily at The Ultimate Girls Weekend presented by Bohemian Summer Festival when she came along to my Business as Ceremony workshop.

Everyone chose a crystal and each crystal represented something different in business. We worked through a few questions together, had some really beautiful conversations and then everyone went on their way.

A little while later she reached out.

From there, we didn’t jump straight into branding.

We spent time in ceremony together. I sent her a little ceremonial kit, we explored the heart of Balance & Nurture and really sat with what she wanted this business to become before we started thinking about colours or logos.

It was such a beautiful way to land fully and intention in this part of the whole process.

The branding was where it ended. But it began with the conversations. The ceremony. The little voice notes. The ideas that change halfway through because something suddenly clicks.

Then, somewhere along the way, it all starts looking like a business.

Seeing Balance & Nurture out in the world now feels pretty special.

Em, thank you for trusting me with something that was so much bigger than creating a logo. I can’t wait to watch where this takes you. 🤎

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how people imagine creative work.

It’s easy to picture someone sitting in a beautiful studio with a perfectly styled desk, a coffee beside them and inspiration arriving exactly when it’s needed.

Mine doesn’t really look like that.

Most mornings start long before I open my laptop.

I teach yoga. I move my body. I leave in the dark & watch the sunrise. I’m usually standing in the outdoor shower while it’s still dark, letting the hot water wake me up before the rest of the day begins… and then doing the freezing run back into the cottage afterwards.

On the way home I’ll usually grab a coffee, come back, pull out my little fold out table from Kmart and set myself up on the couch with one or four of my doggos on my lap.

And that’s honestly where a lot of Alahara happens.

It’s probably not what people picture when they think of a branding studio.

But I don’t know… I quite like that.

Some days I’ll sit there for an hour wondering where to start, so I start cleaning and then all of a sudden colours and lines and imagery is popping into my head. Other days I’ll open a client’s Pinterest board and suddenly everything starts making sense. I’ll see a colour palette, a font pairing or an image that makes the whole direction click.

It’s funny where ideas come from.

Sometimes it’s while I’m working.

Sometimes it’s while I’m teaching.

Sometimes it’s halfway through a deep clean of the cottage.

Sometimes it’s because I looked up and saw a rainbow and thought “I’m pulling over for that.”

I don’t really have a point to this post.

I just realised these little moments are as much a part of my work as the hours I spend designing.

And when I look back at the week they’re usually the bits I remember most.

The first week of July felt like someone opened a tap and numbers just started pouring out.

BAS. Invoices. Accounts. Reconciling. Honestly felt like I was being slapped in the face by numbers.

Don’t get me wrong… I was still working on branding projects, websites and all the usual things happening behind the scenes. But it definitely felt like every time I turned around there was another spreadsheet waiting for me.

Safe to say, I was spreadsheeted out.

I actually don’t mind this time of year though. It’s a chance to pause for a second and look back. To see what has grown. What’s changed within my business and my clients.

And to realise just how much can happen in twelve months. This financial year has looked so different to the last.

There have been branding projects I can’t wait to share, new businesses beginning from the ground up, ceremony woven into the creative process, websites coming to life and so many conversations that have reminded me why I love doing this work.

So while the first week of July may have been powered by spreadsheets and Chinese herbs… detoxification over here.

It also gave me a moment to appreciate just how much has happened over the last year.

And for that I’m really grateful.

I don’t even know where to start with this one because RenJi isn’t just a branding project to me. This is years of watching something grow.

I first started working with Renee through Shamanic Roots when her salon was still just an idea. We sat together and talked about what she wanted to create. How she wanted people to feel. What she wanted the space to hold. Then the salon came to life. She found the space. She started trading. A whole business began to form.

And then, like all things that grow, it reached a point where it was ready to become something new.

When I travelled to Brisbane in April, we spent time together in the salon and sat in ceremony.

We honoured what had been. We thanked the version of the business that brought us here. And we opened the space for what was ready to come through next.

And honestly… this part still gives me goosebumps.

Because the name, the turtle, the monstera leaf, the colours, the feeling of the brand all came through with so much intention.

There was so much meaning woven into every piece.
We had to capture the feeling that was already there. The care and the warmth. The connection. The experience Renee wants every person who walks through those doors to have.

And when it came time to bring the branding together, it honestly flowed so naturally. The colours fell into place. The design unfolded. It felt like the brand already knew what it wanted to become.

Watching the team embrace it has been so special. Seeing everyone wearing the colours. Seeing the community connect with it. Seeing this vision that Renee has carried for so long become something tangible…

I don’t think I can fully explain how grateful I am to have been part of this journey. Being there for the conversations, the ideas, the growth and all the little moments in between.

I feel so deeply lucky to experience. To be trusted with someone’s vision. To sit beside them while it grows. To watch it come alive.

Renee, thank you for trusting me with this chapter.

It has been such an honour.

I’ve been sitting with a lot of gratitude lately. For the people who have trusted me with their ideas, their businesses, their dreams that are still in the middle of becoming.

There’s something really special about being invited in at the beginning. Before everything is fully formed. Before it’s clear. Before it has shape.

Just sitting with someone in that space of “I know I want to create this… I just don’t know how yet.”

And then slowly, but surely things start to move.

I think I forget sometimes how much I love that part of this work. The beginning. The trust.

The moment someone says, “can you help me with this?”

And I get to sit with it. Hold it for a little while. Listening to what it wants to be.

I don’t know, I feel like lately I’ve just been really aware of how lucky I am to do this.

To witness ideas turning into something real and to be part of that unfolding.

It’s not something I ever take lightly. And I don’t think I say that enough here.

But I am really grateful.

This morning feels less like a launch and more like an arrival.

Over the past few years, Alahara Creative has quietly evolved through the people I’ve had the privilege of working alongside. As they’ve grown, I’ve grown.

Each business has asked something different of me.

Some needed structure. Some needed creative direction. Some needed someone to sit in ceremony with them before a single decision was made.

Some arrived with an idea scribbled in a notebook and together we’ve nurtured it from the very first seed into something tangible. Something you can see. Something you can feel.

Along the way, I realised that the website I had no longer reflected the work I was actually doing.

It spoke to parts of Alahara Creative, but not the whole.

So I slowed down.

I listened.

I refined.

Not just the words or the layout, but the feeling I wanted people to have when they arrived here.

Because that’s always been the heart of my work.

Creating spaces that feel intentional.

Where strategy and creativity can sit beside intuition. Where every colour, every font, every page and every decision has a reason for being there.

You may also notice that many of the images throughout my website are AI-generated.

That choice is intentional.

Much of my work lives in spaces that can’t always be captured through a camera lens. Energy. Feeling. Possibility. The unseen beginnings of a business before it has a visual identity of its own.

For me, AI isn’t about replacing creativity.

It’s another creative medium. One that allows me to express the atmosphere, emotion and essence that words alone sometimes can’t.

This website feels like the truest reflection of Alahara Creative so far.

Not because it’s finished.

But because it finally feels like home. It feels like it shows who I am, who Alahara is.

Thank you to every client who’s trusted me with your ideas, your businesses, your dreams and your vision.

You’ve shaped this evolution just as much as I have.

And if you’re finding your way here for the first time… Welcome.

I’m really glad you’re here.

I flew to Brisbane for work.

That still feels a little surreal to say…

A creative immersive day with Renee from moving through the salon, capturing content, feeling into the space, the colours, the rhythm of what she’s built. Sitting with my laptop in between moments, letting things land as they came through.

There’s something about being physically in someone’s business that shifts everything. You can feel it. The energy, the intention, the way it actually lives and breathes beyond a screen.

And then the day softened.

We stepped out of the doing and into something deeper.
We sat in ceremony together for a few hours… no cameras, no content, just presence.

Tuning into her, her work, what she’s creating and where it’s wanting to go. And it’s exciting to say the least!

It’s hard to put into words what those spaces hold, but it felt really special to witness. To be trusted in that way.

This is the kind of work I want more of.

Not just creating for someone, but sitting with them.
Feeling the heart of what they’re building and bringing it into form from there.

If you’ve been wanting someone to step into your world like this…
to see it, feel it and create alongside you I’m here for that.

April has felt like a month of movement. Not just internally, but in my actual life and work.

There’s been this fire to it… almost like a gentle reminder of Fire Horse energy. Aries season. Forward motion. Initiation. Things wanting to move, to travel, to expand.

I felt it in my body before I even had words for it.

Last week I flew to Brisbane for a creative immersive day with a client. Got on a plane, stayed in an Airbnb and stepped into a completely different rhythm of working and it felt really expansive for me. There’s something about physically moving for your work that shifts everything. It stretches how you hold it.

And alongside that, ceremony started to weave in more deeply again. Sitting with clients at the beginning of their business, tuning into what’s actually wanting to be created before anything has fully formed.

It feels like a return… but also an expansion at the same time.

Earlier in the year there was more backend structure, more admin, systems, the holding of things that needed to be put in place. And I respect that season deeply as it’s always necessary.

But April feels different. More open. More alive. More in motion.

There’s this moment that keeps happening with clients where things soften. The overthinking drops away. And what they’re building starts to feel clearer and it’s not because we’ve “figured it out”, but because we’ve actually slowed down enough to feel into it properly.

That’s the space I’m in right now.

Creating.
Holding.
Moving with what’s alive.
Sitting in ceremony when it calls.
Bringing things into form with intention.

I work best with people who feel that same fire in what they’re building. Who have something real to bring into the world, even if it’s still forming. People who are ready to move with it, to be held and trust the process as it unfolds.

If that’s you… and you’re ready to bring your ideas into form in a way that feels aligned, supported and alive…

I’m here.

Sometimes is the space I work from.

I don’t have a desk. I choose my workspace based on my energy that day.

Sometimes it’s the couch on the deck, laptop on my lap, trees moving around me, a slower pace to the day.

And from here… I create.

Soft.
Grounded.
Intentional.

The work I do isn’t just strategy or design. It’s sitting with your ideas long enough for them to actually land. Feeling into what’s there. Letting it take shape in a way that makes sense for you and your business.

There’s a steadiness to it. A pace that allows clarity to come through. Where things don’t feel forced or scattered, but supported and structured in a way that holds.

This is the space your ideas enter when we work together.

And from there, they become something real.

Tuning into my own energy each morning and beginning there is the most important. Energy is everything in how I work.
