We’re on the lookout 👀 for a Design Director to join our Melbourne studio.

This is a senior, hands-on role working across brand, strategy and digital, leading projects end to end and helping shape where the studio goes next. You’ll also contribute to new business conversations and presentations as part of the studio’s growth.

We’re a small, friendly and collaborative team who genuinely enjoy working together and staying close to what we make. We’re looking for someone thoughtful, curious and detail-driven, who’s comfortable moving between strategic thinking and refined ex*****on.

Full-time, permanent role with a hybrid setup (2 days in our Melbourne CBD studio, Tues + Thurs).

Applications close 30 April 2026, with interviews in May and an early June start.

We are honoured to have won Best Brand Identity for our work for in the Eat Drink Design Awards, hosted by . We were especially touched to read the following jury citation:

“The winner of Best Identity Design, Suupaa, impressed the jury with its extraordinary depth and consistency across every branded touchpoint, from shopping carts and product packaging to uniforms and even a silver ramen cup. The identity is bold, cohesive and deeply authentic, managing to feel premium without sacrificing the spirit of a Japanese canteen. Every element is highly considered, yet playful and unexpected, creating a memorable experience that feels fresh and distinctly Japanese. Despite the utilitarian nature of the setting, the design draws you in and makes you want to engage – eat, shop and explore. It’s an identity that not only stands out visually but also enhances the customer experience at every level.”

Suupaa was a wonderful project to be involved with. Having previously collaborated with , and on .future, it was a joy to be invited back by the same talented team to bring their next venture to life. Their vision was strong from the start and the collaboration was truly enjoyable. We were fortunate to partner with an outstanding wider team (listed below) and we’d also like to congratulate Suupaa and for also winning Best Retail Design.

Thank you to the jury panel: , , , and .

A tequila brand inspired by the wild & mystic ‘hollow moon’ theory 🌵🦂(post 3/3)

In-keeping with the brand’s ‘hollow moon’ concept, an illustration is unexpectedly printed on the under side of the label, and can be seen through the bottle. The bottle interior almost acts as the inside of the hollow moon — providing a canvas for mythical creatures such as the rabbit, which has historically been cited in Aztec times as a rabbit placed on the moon by the Aztec god, Quetzalcóatl.

A tequila brand inspired by the wild & mystic ‘hollow moon’ theory 🌵🦂(post 2/3)

Visual cues signify a certain Mexican persona is the use of earthy orange that is reminiscent of the desert and the orange-red adobe hut walls, while also providing a cut through in the Tequila market. The packaging label sits over the neck of the bottle which will crinkle over time with use, adding a casual charm and personality to the bottle in an organic manner.

Leaning into the surreal, the brand’s visual identity is further explored via its social media where moon phases and horoscopes are part of the brand language, intertwined with trippy, distorted desert imagery. This mystic theme extends to product photography, which
features scorpions, sand, and flickering candles, blending tequila cocktails with an otherworldly desert spirituality.

A tequila brand inspired by the wild & mystic ‘hollow moon’ theory 🌵🦂(post 1/3)

Luna Hueca (Hollow Moon) is a new tequila produced in Mexico, and bottled in Australia. The name translates to “Hollow Moon” — a wild galactic conspiracy theory that envisions the moon as hollow, made of metal and iron, working as a mechanical structure with extraterrestrials monitoring humanity. This offbeat ideology provided a wealth of graphic inspiration, forming an illustrative identity that evokes the ethereal and spiritual qualities of our natural satellite — the moon.

The brand identity features a modern interpretation of a classic duo — a wolf howling at the moon, as a signifier to ‘Luna Hueca’. The logotype balances the heavy mark with lightness and delicacy, and further paired with a contemporary blackletter style typography, the brand speaks authenticity yet is approachable and fresh.

Mark the occasion with .gifting 🎁 (post 3/3)

Drawing inspiration from the architectural beauty of Celsus’ Library, Aretae incorporates a grid system and secondary patterns reminiscent of the library’s structure and carvings. This design approach not only pays homage to the iconic structure and home to the statue of Aretae, but also infuses the brand’s visual identity with a sense of timelessness and sophistication.
