We both haven’t actually been creating videos for very long. But what we have in common is our love for telling stories… and contrary to popular belief, this has nothing to do with cinematic camera skills.
We’ve been telling stories forever, it’s how our brains make sense of the world. It’s how we remember information and experiences. At the end of the day, it’s not every single word or details that matters - it’s the feeling or lesson we are left with.
Creating videos is such a powerful medium - as we have the ability to cut what isn’t necessary to the story and emphasise what is - and what is becomes subjective to the creator. This is why everyone who creates videos will have such a different style! Because with unlimited angles, words, ideas, sounds, actions that can be captured in any one moment, to create a 60 minute film or 60 second reel… the choices are all subjective.
What you choose to keep and what you choose to cut is the mark of a good storyteller - whether in a spoken story or a visual edit.

Don’t try to be anyone else… because it’s your subjective choices that is how you leave your mark on a viewer.
