Printed on wares for you and your home. Hello, I'm Megan Isabella- an Illustrator based in Perth, Western Australia. As you can probably tell by now, I'm completely floral-obsessed. I like to make botanical themed drawings so I can transform them into colourful, decorative patterns for printing onto fabric and other surfaces. All of the products in my store feature prints of my original artwork. M

y work is renowned for it's bold pop colours and graphic line work. Whilst it is influenced by the retro patterns of the 60's and 70's, it also incorporates today's trends in theme and colour which create a look that is very current. I design products that are a joy to own. I strive to make things that are decorative and fun. It is a celebration of colour, of nature and of all things pretty! It is my greatest wish that my illustrations bring a smile to people's faces whenever they look at them.

Happy New Year! What’s your project goal for 22?

The project i want to make a reality this year is to transform our ugly, clutttered, shared home office aka the ‘dump off’ room into a proper office.

Organized, functional and inspiring. A place I actually want to go to. A sanctuary from the demands of motherhood and domestic life. A space that reflects the level of profession and dedication that I put into my business and art practice.

To set the intention and get motivated to financially smash the goal, I’ve been measuring and mocking up possibilities on Illustrator. I’m going to print it out along with a cost spreadsheet and put it up on the wall so I can stay extra focused on making it happen 💪🏼

Let’s do this!

Surprise! Finally get to show you this super cute sticker collaboration I’ve done with 🥰🌈

Given the theme ‘Love and Friendship’ as a brief I was inspired by my 2.5yr old daughter and some of the things she loves. All stickers were hand paintpainted in gouache colours in a candy-sweet palette.

A loose ‘Galentines’ theme these stickers are perfect for doing gifts and crafty projects for Valentine’s Day.

Frida Flowerpot

A few snaps from a workshop I ran at a private hens celebration yesterday. The theme was ‘mexicola’ so I came up with this fun Frida Kahlo inspired design.

I’m so proud of everyone having a crack at it and giving it a go. They did great! Thank you for having me 😊

THANK YOU!

2021 was HARD. I learned whole bee levels of resilience 😵‍💫. So thank you so so much for supporting me. For buying something from the shop, for sharing a post, for sending words of encouragement, for coming to my workshops. It means the world to me ♥️

I hope you and your loved ones have a safe Holiday Season.

This little one has been suffering from ‘Mesenteric Adenitis’ which is a fancy word for painful tummy cramps caused by inflamed lymph nodes (we had our first trip to Emergency at 2am on Friday). She’s been through the ringer, so to cheer her up I painted these window murals out the front of our house as a surprise. She was stoked! Even better than Christmas lights.

5 reasons I love gouache:

1. It dries with an amazing matte finish.

2. You can dilute it to make it like water colour or keep it thick for intense colour.

3. You can layer it. Coming from a graphic design background, I love building up layers like I would in Photoshop or Illustrator.

4. They are intensely pigmented. The colour packs a punch and a little goes a long way!

5. You can rehydrate them, bringing them back to life on your palette (just like sea monkeys haha)

Have you given gouache a try? What do you think of them?
