Congratulations to the City of Perth Strategic Alliance Award winner, Justin Barnes

Justin Barnes left the security of a full-time job during the pandemic to found Rocket Launcher, helping purpose-led organisations punch above their weight through strategic marketing, partnership and fundraising.

The company’s fingerprints can be found on Perth’s winning bid for the 2030 Gay Games, PrideFEST 2024 and Backroads Gravel (the Mid West’s largest mass-participation sporting event).

Mr Barnes’ leadership is grounded in authenticity and relationship driven, as a successful social entrepreneur, community advocate and marketing industry leader.
He has prioritised long-term impact, systems and partnerships over short-term profits, in a move designed to create lasting community and economic value.

That approach appears to have paid dividends for Rocket Launcher, which estimates it has delivered a total of more than $230,000 of direct and in-kind community impact over the past five years.

Wish us luck for tomorrow!

My favourite work day of the year is tomorrow! The RKCC Mineral Resources Regional Business Awards. A celebration of hard work and community spirit. It's easy to forget that RKCC is a not-for-profit association, and this event brings us the opportunity to showcase how we help businesses of all sizes and diversity transacting in the area. It would not be possible to do so without our sponsors, prize donations and the silent workers - our incredibly talented Executive Team - the volunteers that care to make a difference in our community. Many who volunteer across several charities, sporting clubs, foundations and associations of all types. As the night of nights draws near, I would like to say a personal note of appreciation to the nominees, good luck to the finalists, a massive thank you to our community and business champions for putting Rockingham and Kwinana first.

We are delighted to this morning find out that Rocket Launcher has been selected as a finalised for the Stirling Business Association 2023 Business Awards which will take place on Friday 10th November at Rendezvous Hotel Perth Scarborough.

Could not be happier with this outcome along with being a brilliant way to kick off a weekend!
