Beware of Scams! This week I have helped some clients with scam activity in the form of popups and suspicious emails, so it's important to be vigilant. Remember, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

What to do if you encounter scam pop-ups or emails:

DO NOT click on any links or attachments.
DO NOT provide any personal information.
Close the pop-up window or delete the email immediately.

🛡️ Keep your inbox safe with these five email safety tips! 🛡️

🌟 1. Use strong passwords: Make sure your email password is complex and unique compared to your other important passwords. Use a mix of letters, numbers, symbols, and even passphrases. It's getting more difficult to keep track of all our passwords, so you could look into a password manager too.

🌟 2. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA): Add an extra layer of security by enabling 2FA such as your mobile number. This way, even if someone gets hold of your password, they won't be able to access your account without the second verification step.

🌟 3. Watch out for phishing scams: Always check and verify the sender's email address and look for any signs of phishing. You can hover your mouse over the sender's email address or links within the email to see if they are legitimate websites, or fake ones trying to trick you. If something feels off, trust your instincts and don't respond or click on any links.

🌟 4. Be cautious with attachments and links: Take your time to review an email and never open attachments or click on links from unknown or suspicious sources. They might contain malware or phishing scams. Delete anything suspicious - if it's important, the sender will contact you again. You can also verify the legitimacy of the attachments by calling the sender and discussing it with them directly.

🌟 5. Regularly update your software: Keep your operating system, email client, and security software up to date to protect yourself from the latest threats. Enable automatic updates where possible.
