Is it selfish or selfless to share this?

There’s been a lot going on lately so I haven’t been posting content like this.

This morning I lost myself whilst journaling and realised that sharing my thoughts helps me to process what is happening in my life, to learn and grow.

I do this for me but if it helps others thats cool too!

LIFE IS STRESSFUL, but that's a good thing.😤

I made this post as a reminder to myself.
A reminder that stress can be good and is often a sign of growth as long as you’re able to manage it correctly.
Running a small business often means managing lots of moving parts.
These are some of the ways I manage my stress levels.

What’s your most effective way of managing stress?

I’M THE LUCKIEST GUY ALIVE🙏🏼

If you believe in luck that is.

Before I learned these skills I lived a life working for someone else building their dreams instead of my own.

Then one day I took the first step in a journey of personal development that changed my life forever.

I’ve had the privilege of living life on my terms for over four years.

Now there's no going back!

It starts with a single step, are you ready to embrace the unknown?

What makes you HAPPY!? 😁

This week I came across an interview with Casey Neistat, undoubtedly one of the biggest YouTube stars of all time.

He explained how you must love what you do whatever the goal you’re pursuing in life.

If you’re not willing to do the work for free over many years, then you’ll unlikely reach the top in that field.

For example:
To become a professional athlete, you must commit to daily practice until you reach the professional level.

Then after all the hard work, you might be lucky enough to receive the attention and recognition to compete with other athletes at that level.

Your favourite music artist only caught your attention when they were good enough to stand out against the competition.

So often the hard work that others put in to achieve their dreams goes unseen.
Instead, we celebrate their achievements and watch in awe without appreciating the years of uncelebrated effort that it took them to get there.

What are you willing to commit yourself to daily regardless of recognition?

What would you do if your life was a movie?

A friend of mine used to joke that every day he spent with me was a day in the life of Marcus.

It’s funny but kinda true.

I often envision watching my life through an external lens like a movie.

Imagining your life as a movie is a powerful tool to map out living the life you want.

You can ask yourself:
What is the genre?
How will it end?
What happens in the story?
Why is it interesting?

What can you be BEST in the world at?🌏

I give this question lots of thought often.

Everyone has a set of experiences and skills, which combined become unique and valuable to the world.

Unique = less competition.
Less competition makes it easy to become the best.

Answer the question right and a life of abundance will surely follow.

What are you best at?

Ready!? 1, 2, 3, 4….

When chasing big goals it’s easy to lose momentum or motivation.
This is why it’s so important to track progress.
Work to a plan and create a sense of momentum along the journey.

💸Is it just me that does this?

Every winter when the weather gets cold and the EOFY approaches I find myself eager to spend money.

It’s like the shorter days, miserable weather and non stop sale emails lead me to believe I can buy my way to happiness.

I find it important to remind myself that my life is full enough.

This can also be true for when we are trying to adopt new habits.
Often it’s the case that to make way for a new habit we have to remove an existing habit.

Wherever possible I try to look for things/behaviours that are no longer serving me and replace them with new better serving alternatives.

Like a spring clean it can be good to take stock and clear out before adding in extra.

What have you been holding onto that it’s time to let go of?

Are stuck in an uncomfortable season? 🌸☀️🍁❄️

Thinking of life like the seasons could help you to maintain a positive mindset year round.

I was first introduced to the concept of life’s seasons through motivational speaker Jim Rohn.

If we look to the nature it’s clear that everything moves in cycles. There is a beginning middle and end.

When we’re feeling stuck it’s possible that we are living thorugh a neccessary season in our lives and it can be helpful to label the time and acknowledge that it will pass.

I’m more of a summer guy and rarely enjoy winter, but even in the winter there are areas of my life that I might identify as a being in a summer.

Failing that, acknowledging the seasons and knowing they will pass helps me maintain a positive mindset year round.

REAL TALK! ✋🏼 Does what you do daily move you closer to the person you want to become?

Every day is an opportunity to improve on yesterday.

The saying “use it or lose it” couldn’t be more true in this setting.

As I get older I become increasingly more aware of how my daily habits impact the person I am.

Let’s say you were to neglect your health and fitness for all 10 years, and now you’re unfit and out of shape. It could take up to 10 years to undo your daily practice of neglect.

What you do every day matters and over time it builds up.
You want to make sure that overtime that effort is having a positive effect and not a negative one.

It all starts in the mind and thinking about the person you want to be.
From there you can understand what you need to do daily to be that person.

At the end of each day you can ask yourself;
Am I moving a step closer to the person I want to be or further away?

A tool I use everyday to run my business and track my goals is Notion see link in bio.

What to do when you deviate from the path towards your goals…

The best feeling is when you’re absolutely focused and dialled in.

I’ve been focusing on my health and fitness lately.
This means eating clean unprocessed foods and getting a balanced amount of exercise and sleep.

Yesterday I allowed myself a few treats for my birthday.

BUT

Today I remind myself that I need to stay focused and consistent.
The hard work isn’t over yet.

Are you asking the right questions? 🤔

When I was a lot younger I struggled with my weight.
I always dreamed of having a great physique but didn't know how.
That was until I asked the right question.

I used to ask myself “How can I lose weight?” then one day everything changed when I asked the question “How can I build muscle?”

The shift from focusing on gain rather than loss unlocked a host of new answers and motivated me to achieve something I never had previously.

I recently read about the psychological phenomenon known as the Question Behaviour Effect in the book “Diary of a CEO”

The Question Behaviour Effect explains how questions can have a large impact on our behaviours. This got me thinking about the questions we should all be asking ourselves to help encourage positive behaviours.

👇 Drop what important questions you think we should ask ourselves in the comments below and let's keep the conversation flowing! 👇
