That’s become something we value more as we’ve gotten older.

It doesn’t have to be an expensive holiday or somewhere halfway around the world.

Some of the weekends we remember most are simply the ones where we packed up, went somewhere together and enjoyed whatever unfolded.

A new place. A great meal. Something we hadn’t tried before. A conversation that went way longer than expected. Usually a few laughs about something that definitely wasn’t part of the plan.

That’s become something we value more as we’ve gotten older.

It’s also why creating more options for ourselves has become so important.

Not for bigger or better things.

For more opportunities to say yes when something worth doing comes up.

A weekend away. Camping somewhere new. Dinner with the family. Or simply doing something we’ll still be laughing about years from now.

A great weekend is over quickly, but the story can stick around for years.

Those are the stories we want plenty of.

What don’t I know yet?

For most of our working lives, the formula made perfect sense. Learn your job, get good at it, gain experience and get paid for the value you bring.

We’d done that.

What became interesting was discovering there were entire ways of doing business we knew absolutely nothing about.

Online business. Direct sales. Using social media to reach people. Systems that could work without everything depending on the hours we personally put in.

Instead of dismissing it because it was unfamiliar, we became curious enough to learn.

That decision introduced us to skills, people, experiences and opportunities that simply weren’t part of our world before.

And when you’ve already created a good life, growth doesn’t always come from changing everything you have.

Sometimes it comes from being willing to ask yourself one really good question…

What don’t I know yet?

If that question has you thinking, comment CLARITY and we’ll reach out for an honest conversation.

I’ve been thinking a lot about growth lately.

About how easy it is to confuse being grateful with being satisfied.

You can love your life and still feel called to grow beyond it.

Maybe that feeling isn’t something you need to silence.

Maybe it’s something you need to listen to.

This weekend, Micheal is taking Jasper fishing with his brother and nephew.

While they were getting ready, I caught this little moment of Micheal teaching Jasper how to tie knots on a fishing line.

Nothing extraordinary.

Just a dad and his son, doing something they love.

But honestly, this is exactly why we started our online business.

Not because we wanted another thing to do.

Because we wanted more of these moments.

More weekends that actually feel like weekends.

More time for the things we love, with the people we love.

More choice over how we spend our time.

We don’t want to look back one day and realise we were so busy working that we missed the ordinary moments that turned out to be the ones that mattered most.

This is the goal.

Not a perfect life.

Just more of this. ❤️

You get to the end of another week and someone asks what you’re doing Saturday.

Straight away you start thinking about everything that needs doing.

Mow the lawn. Get to the shops. Kids have something on. Catch up on the jobs around the house you didn’t get near all week.

Then you remember you’ve got to work. So there goes Sunday too.

Before you know it, the whole weekend’s gone.

I think that’s why those completely free days feel so bloody good when you finally get one.

A day where you can wake up, look at each other and say, “What do you feel like doing today?”

I don’t think we need every day to look like that.

But I reckon life could do with a few more of them.

If having a little more of your weekend back sounds pretty bloody good, comment CLARITY and we’ll send you some information that may open your mind to other options.

As a kid, I thought adults knew exactly what they were doing.

Dad went to work. Mum and Dad paid for things. There was food in the fridge. Christmas somehow happened every year.

Nobody sat us down and explained the bits we couldn’t see.

The bills that landed at the wrong time. The things they probably went without. The conversations they had after we went to bed. The decisions they weren’t sure about either.

Now we’re the ones doing it.

And I reckon one of the strangest parts of getting older is finally understanding that our parents weren’t handed some secret instruction manual when they turned 30.

They were figuring their life out while we were busy thinking they already had.

If you could go back and ask your parents one question about that stage of their life, what would you ask them?

It’s actually pretty funny when you think about it.

Your kids ask you questions like you’re supposed to know the answer.

They see you going to work, paying the bills, sorting things out around the house, making the decisions and keeping everything moving.

To them, you’re the adult. You know what you’re doing.

Meanwhile you’re lying in bed thinking about money, work, whether you’re making the right decisions for your family and what the hell the next ten years are supposed to look like.

I used to look at my parents and think adults just knew.

Now I reckon they were probably doing exactly what we’re doing.

Working with what they knew, making decisions as they went and hoping they were getting more right than wrong.

Makes you look at your parents a little differently, doesn’t it?

Did you think your parents had it all figured out when you were a kid?

You’ve read a few of our posts, maybe more than a few, and you still haven’t messaged us. That’s okay. Most people don’t message straight away.

You’re probably still working out what we could actually do for you. Here’s the simple part. We help people earn money without needing more hours to do it.

More hours never gave us more time. It just used up more of it. If time is the thing you’re short on, more work isn’t going to fix that.

We’re not here to push you into anything. We’re here if you want to ask us how.

Micheal has been away camping with the boys this weekend, and honestly, I love seeing him do this. Not because camping is anything special, but because there was a time when weekends like this weren’t always easy to make happen. Work, overtime and everything else that comes with life meant there was always something competing for his time.

Having our own online business has given us more flexibility to make choices like this. It’s another little piece of the life we’re working towards, where work doesn’t get to decide every time we can say yes to the things we want to do.

That’s what this is really about for us. Not working less just for the sake of it, but having more choice over how we spend our time and who we spend it with.

It’s Friday, and everyone is saying, “Thank God it’s Friday.”

We get it. We used to think exactly the same way.

But I sn’t it strange that we’ve accepted the happiest day of our week is the day we get to stop doing what we do?

Five days are something to get through, just so we can enjoy two.

When you really stop and think about it, that’s a huge chunk of your life spent waiting.

We are excited that it’s Friday too, but not because tomorrow is Saturday.

We’re excited because it’s Friday.

Because we are working towards creating a life where Monday doesn’t feel like something to dread, Wednesday isn’t just the middle, and Friday isn’t our only chance to feel alive.

We aren’t there yet. We still go to work every day.

The difference is we’re no longer building a life around escaping the week. We are building one we don’t feel the need to escape from.

Have you ever thought about it like that?
