I had an interesting experience with my nephew. At his age, he can’t get enough of 🦖dinosaurs. Off to the toy store🏬 we went, he was so excited.

When we arrived in the toy store, he took his time and enjoyed checking out each and every toy. As I was looking around, here’s what I noticed.

There aren’t as many kids in the store compared to before. So I engaged in a conversation with one of the staff and asked them how’s business going.

The staff member shared with me that business hasn’t been that good as to what it used to be because of online and mobile games.

Kids have been spending more time using their gadgets compared to playing with actual toys. And I just found out that kids are asking for in-game currencies so they can spend that “money” for their avatar accessories.

So I began to think of small business owners who are affected by the digital age. If you can’t keep up with technology, you’ll most likely go obsolete. And that means, you’ll shut down your business.

In order to prevent that from happening, what are you doing to keep up with the trend of technology?

Starting a is a challenging .
Some endeavours will fail and others will falter, but many
who start businesses will question why they ever did it.

Let me tell you that these situations are not limited to the beginnings of a business; they can pop up at any time.

Experience doesn’t always get you an automatic get out of jail free card. It can get you a thick skin and some history.

“Never let a bad start rob you of the air your idea needs to breathe."

That mediocre idea that may never get off the ground could very well be the trigger to something more, something better.

The Business Universe works in mysterious ways, none of which I have even been able to get a handle on.

Your in what you do and what you want is sometimes all you will have to lean on.

Stay and .

In one of our meetings, my team and I talked about how hard it was to live with our now that we’ve decided to move back home.

Mind you, it was a breath of fresh air knowing I’m not the only one who shares this kind of sentiment.

I won’t deny that there are times when I wonder if I made the right choice.

My managed to raise a family, stay married for almost 50 years, run businesses, work 7 days for many years, never resorted to fast food for a meal, never turned me into her house keeper, always had her hair done and somehow still manages to be tougher than all of us –

BTW, she is only 5ft.

Can you see where I’m going?

I am driven in ; it’s my way of doing things. I intensely and my guilt comes from feelings of annoyance when others interrupt that – namely my mother, from what I see as trivial needs.

I hate it when she calls me about her oven or washing machine, or complains about dad. I hate me more when I feel this way, especially when I know that if the tables were turned she wouldn’t be like that.

I’m not a good daughter, at least not consistently, and I find that disappointing since my mother is really someone who would understand everything I face. I’m fascinated and heartbroken at the same time, this push pull of mothers & daughters.

As a she would understand the challenges of gender and as a business owner she gets the stress and risk.

I’m going to call her right now and tell her how much I adore her, and thank her for putting up with me for all these years!

I’m not perfect, but who is?

Do you have a push pull relationship with your mother or daughter?
