Day 9 on the Cape! 🏕️🌿

After our adrenaline-fuelled day tackling the OTT, we spent the day at Fruit Bat Falls & Eliot Falls recovering! 😂💦

The water temperature was perfect, the scenery was absolutely breathtaking 😍 and it was exactly what we needed after all the thrills of the day before.

A little swimming, a lot of relaxing and soaking up this beautiful place. ❤️

Day 4, 5 & 6 on the Cape! 🏕️🌴❤️

Three nights at Punsand while we explored the very tip of Australia — and what an adventure it was! 🥰

Making it all the way to the Tip, cracking fresh coconuts at Somerset, exploring 5 Islands 4WD track, fishing off Seisia Jetty, visiting Loyalty Beach and meeting Merlin, who has ran the entire lap of Australia. 🌏

The Cape has a magic of its own, and we feel so incredibly grateful to be experiencing it together. ❤️

Day 3 on the Cape! 🏕️🌿

Day 3 was spent at Bramwell Tourist Roadhouse, and we were just too caught up in the moments to capture much of it! 🥰
The kids made new friends, played games of soccer, spent time doing gymnastics together, exploring and just enjoying being kidsl. ❤️

We booked in for the dinner experience too, which was delicious! A little on the expensive side, but it’s the Cape… you go all in or nothing! 😂

The bonus was the FREE washing machines! 🙌🏼 You don’t get a lot of free washing facilities around the country, so if you’re stopping here and want to take advantage of them, get in early because the lines are long!

Another day on the Cape filled with good people, happy kids and memories that don’t always make it into the camera roll.

Day 2 on the Cape! 🏕️🌿

Coen on the Northern Bend campsite certainly gave us an adventure getting in! 😂 Creek crossings, soft sand and a few little moments where we had to work together as a team to get ourselves out….

Once we arrived, the teamwork continued as we figured out where to position all the vans so we could all be connected and make the most of the views.

The kids spent time fishing with the witchy grubs they found, observing the wild bulls and cows wandering around, collecting firewood, painting each other’s faces and getting involved in making the pizzas.

Only up from here! 🥰

DAY 1 — CAPE YORK 🐾

We reunited with some of our van crew for the start of what might be one of our last adventures together for a long while 🥺❤️

We made our way to Laura and settled in at the Peninsula Hotel, where we caught up, the kids got stuck into some painting, and Jayne and I headed off to explore the Quinkan Split Rock art site.

It was such a little gem! A roughly hour-long walk up a Grade 4 track, but totally worth the climb. Getting up there and seeing the rock art tucked into the rocks, with those beautiful views over the landscape, was pretty special.

Back in Laura, we had a wander around the little pub and general store before settling in for the night.

And just like that… Day 1 of Cape York was done! ❤️

CAPE YORK — LET’S GO!

Five nights in this beautiful, lush green corner of the world 🌿💦🌳 — surrounded by waterfalls, rainforest walks, farmers markets and so many incredible little places to explore… and we didn’t even scratch the surface!

We spent one whole day getting the car and van serviced, but still managed to squeeze in a little taste of what this beautiful area has to offer. ❤️

💦 Malanda Falls & Information Centre, including the rainforest loop walk

We stayed at Bonadio RV & Nature Park for all five nights, and it was such a beautiful spot to call home. The wildlife feeding and river walk were definitely a highlight — especially getting to spot turtles and even platypus! 🐢❤️

There was so much more we wanted to see and do, but that’s one of the things we’re learning on this journey… you simply can’t do it all.

Five nights was nowhere near enough, but what a beautiful little taste of the Atherton Tablelands. 🌿✨

And now… off to another BIG adventure — CAPE YORK! 🚐🌴🌊 Let the next chapter begin! ❤️

Been in the thick of just being lately. 🥰 It’s been hard to keep up with the updates on our travels because, honestly… we’ve just been living it.

Hitting the September milestone has somehow put us into this beautiful little slumber of being in our own world.

We know we can’t stay here forever, so we’re soaking up every bit of it. The slow mornings, the places we stumble across, the kids being kids, and the feeling of having nowhere else we need to be. ❤️

So, a little catch-up on where we’ve been…

After crossing the QLD border, our first stop was the spectacular Gregory River, where we found a beautiful free camp and settled in for a few nights.

From there, we headed to another free camp — Cumberland Historic Chimney — before making our way to the absolutely beautiful Atherton. 🥰🌿

And just like that, we’re another few chapters into this crazy adventure of ours.
