What does it really mean to be authentic?
We hear it all the time… “Just be yourself.”
But what if being authentic isn’t about finding some “true self” that’s been hiding somewhere waiting to be discovered?
Maybe it’s about getting honest with yourself about what matters to you, what you value and how you actually want to live your life.
For a long time, I think many of us get caught up in doing what’s expected. Working hard, meeting responsibilities, following the path we think we should follow… and somewhere along the way, we can lose sight of what we actually want.
I’ve come to realise that creating a life that feels like you doesn’t necessarily mean changing everything overnight.
Sometimes it starts with asking yourself a few simple questions:
What do I really want?
What matters to me now?
And does the life I’m creating actually reflect that?
Maybe being authentic isn’t about finding yourself.
Maybe it’s about giving yourself permission to create a life that feels more like you.
This article really made me stop and think. What does authenticity mean to you?
What if cultivating your authentic self doesn’t involve self-reflection, but instead means focusing on what feels good and natural?
