Haiku Workshop & Book Fair - 29/06/2025

After weeks of behind-the-scenes planning and collaborating with Haikuist Subhashini Jayatilake & Australian Haiku Society (AHS) President Leanne Mumford, we were able to deliver an enriching and engaging workshop!

As the designer, during the planning stage, I designed the following:
- Promo poster
- Welcome poster
- Agenda
- Humanitix Banner
- Price List

For the event itself, I developed:
- the presentation deck
- a short video that entailed the theme of the workshop
- a workbook containing the activities and contextual information for the attendees to write their notes in and engage deeper into the learning experience

I made sure to incorporate the subject matter from each stakeholder and create a unified solution that encouraged curiosity and delivered excitement!

Inspired by Ribbon Dancing from traditional theatre and opera, this unique artistic expression allows freedom in movement and emotion. It is widely known in China, with the performance art cultivated for centuries. Passed down from each dynasty, the dance style embodies aesthetic principles, movements, rhythms and inner meaning.

I hope that these pastel designs will evoke calmness for you to freely note your thought streams whenever they may come to mind.

A sample book cover I titled "You, Me, & a Swarm of Butterflies". I was inspired by a notebook my mum had bought me recently and it has several flowers on it. Then, I thought of flowers fluttering by around me but my eyes were closed, feeling the air from their wings. I knew I had to draw what I was imagining so this is the outcome!☺️ It took me two afternoons to draw, paint & scale it onto the book prototypes. I hope you all like it!
