At History Will Be Kind, our people are at the heart of every story we tell. Meet the Team is a new series celebrating the talent and passion behind our work. First up is Sam Hayes, Account Director and an integral part of the HWBK family.

- How long have you been working at HWBK?
Two and a half years.

- What’s your role and what does that look like day-to-day?
I’m an Account Director, working closely with our clients and the wider HWBK team to deliver standout results across earned media, influencer and content. My day-to-day is a mix of media relations and influencer management, strategic planning and creative problem solving.

- What’s your favourite part of the job?
It’s a cliché, but no two days are ever the same. You can’t predict what will happen in a comms role. You have to stay on your toes, which means you’re always learning and always getting to try new things.

- What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Swimming, hiking and searching for my new favourite wine bar.

- What’s the best advice you have for someone who wants to join the PR industry or someone already working in PR?
Be proactive and stay curious. It’s the best way to deliver results for clients and also the surest way to get the most out of agency life yourself.

Ever left your cooked chook in an ? What about a lightsaber…or an esky full of crabs? 🦀🍗

Today, we teamed up with Uber to launch the 2025 Lost & Found Index – revealing the weird, wonderful and oh-so-Aussie items left behind in rides across the country this year.

From a mini Steve Irwin toy to $1,200 worth of meat raffle winnings, this year’s list doesn’t disappoint. And yes, someone really did forget a bag of live exotic fish.

Sydney and Melbourne also topped the list as the most forgetful cities – with most items left behind in the morning rush at 7 or 8am, or after a big night out at 2am.
