Another day of westerly winds and Runway 25 operations at Sydney. Here is a screen shot courtesy of Flightradar 24 showing the queue of aircraft waiting to depart and international aircraft waiting for a gate at the international terminal.
It’ll be another day of possible delays and cancellations for passengers and airlines.

B787 over Daceyville on approach to runway 25.

Single runway operations have been in use all day at Sydney, news reports of over 90 flight cancellations and associated travel disruptions.

Crosswind limitations for runway selection, put in place by CASA for safety reasons, mean that Sydney Air Traffic Control are limited to primarily using the single East/West runway in these weather conditions.
