Here is another recipe that you've got to try out!! TOFU KATSU๐ฅ // full recipe โ BY @itsvegansis
INGREDIENTS:
- 400 g tofu
- 2 cups cornflakes (I used gf)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup flour (I used gf)
- 1 tsp ground flaxseeds
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup plant based milk (or water)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Freeze the tofu at least an hour ahead of time for a better texture (optional).
Cut it into 1/2 inch pieces, top with a towel / paper towel, a baking sheet and a few books for 10 minutes to remove any excess moisture.
Meanwhile, blend the cornflakes and salt until reach Panko breadcrumbs texture. Transfer into a bowl.
In a separate bowl stir flour, spices and milk to create the wet batter.
Heat vegetable oil in a large pan.
Dip each tofu piece in the wet batter, then into the breadcrumbs and fry on both sides until golden and crispy.
I served it with sushi rice, carrots, cucumbers, avocado, vegan spicy mayo, vegan tonkatsu sauce and sesame seeds. ENJOY!โค๏ธ

I N G R E D I E N T S
โข Bread of choice
โข 1/2 cup unsalted vegan butter, softened
โข 5 garlic cloves, finely chopped *
โข Small handful fresh parsley, finely chopped
โข 1/4 tsp sea salt
โข Optional: Grated vegan parmesan to add on top or into the butter mixture
D I R E C T I O N S
1. Preheat oven to 200ยฐC. Slice your bread in half and set aside.
2. Add the butter, garlic, parsley, and salt into a bowl and mix well to combine.
3. Spread over the bread, place on a baking tray and bake in the oven for 10-15 mins or until golden and cooked to your liking. Alternately you can also airfry it instead!
4. Slice into small pieces and enjoy immediately.
* Or use as much garlic as your heart desires! If you do have time extra time, you can roast some whole heads of garlic to squeeze into the butter mixture too.
