There's always lots of talk about A.I. But, when used properly, it's a useful tool. Sometimes, it's just interesting.

While you can invest a lot of time working with image restoration, I took about five minutes over a cup of coffee on this image.

I found a 1947 photograph of the main street of Taree (I don't know who took it so I'm not taking credit for it) and, using commercial software, added era-appropriate colour. Then, swapping to other software, added some animation to bring it to life.

Now, I know it's not perfect. Even the sound, chosen by A.I. based upon the scene, is a little odd if you listen carefully. That's because I did it in five minutes. Still, quite interesting to see what's possible.

We've been working on an idea for a festival T-shirt design that would be ideal for screenprinting—a technique that has it's own unique artwork requirements.

We needed a tough, bearded man and a petite woman. Using AI, we formed up these two characters top-left to serve as templates, then stylized their faces using a slightly retro design.
