🌿🛩️ Aerial Work With a Bit of History on the Side

While carrying out aerial stockpile assessments in the area, we made a small detour to explore something rarely seen, the remains of the No. 208 Radar Station RAAF hidden deep in the scrub near Pinny Beach.

Built during WWII, this site was one of just nine British radar stations across mainland Australia, and the only surviving example in New South Wales. A forgotten defence outpost now slowly being reclaimed by the bush.

⚠️ Heads up: The site is quite remote and the access track is heavily washed out, especially the final 500m hill. Even with a capable 4x4, we don’t recommend attempting the drive.

📸 Catherine Hill Bay – Timeless Beauty, Fading History

Whilst we were out in Catherine Hill Bay recently for a real estate shoot, we couldn’t resist swinging by the old jetty for a few more frames.

There’s something hauntingly beautiful about the old girl - standing proud against the ocean’s force, even as her future remains uncertain.

Each visit reminds us how important it is to capture history before it fades.

✈️ Safety First. Compliance Always.

CASA regulations require regular inspections, and we take it a step further with monthly testing across our entire fleet, even if an aircraft hasn’t flown.

Our DJI Mini 2 (we know it's old, but it's reliable) we use for high-risk close-up operations as it's lightweight, has low rotor wash, and runs permanent prop guards for confined environments like pipes and structures.

Yet in our latest monthly inspection, we still uncovered propeller damage that required rectification.

This is why checks matter. By going beyond the minimum, we ensure every aircraft remains safe, reliable, and CASA-compliant every flight, every time.
