The Journey Begins...

Welcome to Country is launching nationally and to celebrate we have a week long program of free online events.

To start our week of celebrations, join the Welcome to Country team for our National Launch event on Wednesday the 2nd of December 2020 at 7.30pm. Our free online launch will open with a Welcome to County, Smoking Ceremony and performance by Tim Bishop and Matthew Doyle and an intimate and immersive performance by electro-soul duo Bow and Arrow. The event will conclude with a panel featuring Aunty Margret Campbell, Darren 'Capes' Capewell and Juan Walker discussing the current landscape and future directions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander tourism in Australia.

Then enjoy our week long program of free events including, Rhoda Roberts in conversation with Bruce Pascoe, Joe Williams, Marcia Langton and Victor Steffensen. We will also be offering online experiences from some of the premiere Aboriginal experiences and artists from across Australia. Enjoy free experiences with Bronwyn Bancroft, Auntry Margret Campbell, Juan Walker, Wayapa Wuurrk and many more!

STEERING GROUP ANNOUNCED
IGNITE is pleased to announce that Sean Gordon, Professor Kerry Arabena, Murray Saylor and Anthony Whitfield have been appointed as its Steering Group. They are all Indigenous executives experienced in building successful, multi-million dollar businesses, and have been appointed to lead our establishment, culminating in the incorporation, inaugural AGM and appointment of a Board of Directors.

IGNITE is an Indigenous-led network designed to support the flow of investment capital, particularly impact investing, into outstanding Indigenous enterprises, securing Indigenous outcomes in international trade negotiations, and expanding Indigenous export opportunities.

“Indigenous success in investment, trade and export is key to better futures for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in our global world.
