Do you even know if your VA is actually working?
About 80% of founders I speak to don’t.
“Amber, I tried a VA and half the time I didn’t even know if they were working on my stuff.”
When I hear that I think, how? But honestly it’s a valid concern if you don’t have the right system in place.
I don’t believe in tracking software. I don’t think you need it.
Do these 3 things instead:
1. Daily check in/out - Slack or WhatsApp works fine
2. Task tracking tool - even a basic spreadsheet so you know what they’re working on and how it’s progressing
3. Video calls every week - we meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday
And when you hand over a task, tell them what success looks like. Give them a KPI or benchmark if needed. And always give a deadline.
A VA who knows what’s expected of them doesn’t need to be chased. That’s how you’ll know.
