The scariest thing about running ads isn't spending money.

It's another year of not knowing where your next client is coming from.

Most service providers I work with don't have a visibility problem.

They have an infrastructure problem.

Here's the difference:

Visibility = people know you exist. Content, social media, referrals, networking.

Infrastructure = a system that moves people from "I know you exist" to "I want to work with you." Lead magnet → landing page → ad → nurture sequence.

You can be incredibly visible and still have an unpredictable pipeline — because visibility and infrastructure are completely different things. One gets you seen. The other gets you paid.

The coaches and consultants who crack consistent leads aren't necessarily posting more. They've built the infrastructure underneath their visibility.

Everyone's talking about lead magnets, funnels, and Facebook ads.

And if you're anything like most of the people I work with, you kind of know what each thing is, but you're not 100% sure how they all fit together.

Here's the plain-language version:
The lead magnet is something genuinely useful you give away free — a guide, checklist, mini training. It solves one specific problem and makes your ideal client think: this person gets me.

The landing page is where they grab it. One page. One offer. One button.

The Facebook ad puts that page in front of the right people — not just your followers, but cold audiences who've never heard of you and are exactly who you want to work with.

The nurture sequence is the automated emails they receive after downloading. It builds trust and moves them toward working with you — without you being online.

That's it.

That’s the system I use everyday to generate leads and interest in my service. It also helped me come back from maternity leave to fully booked in 6 weeks.

Referrals are lovely. Truly.

But "do great work and hope someone mentions your name this week" is not a lead gen strategy.

And I say this because as someone who belongs to a networking group, I hear this all the time.

The problem with relying on referrals is that your revenue ends up depending on other people's conversations. Ones you have zero control over.

Some months are great. Other months it's crickets. And you're left wondering what you did wrong, when really, nothing is wrong. There's just no system.

When you have a clear lead gen system, that works alongside your referral marketing strategy, that is where the magic happens.

It’s helping you bring in leads consistently and you stop holding your breath waiting for the phone to ping.

When someone tells me Facebook ads don’t work, I’m usually curious about what they actually tried.

Often it was boosting a post.
Choosing the wrong objective.
Sending traffic to a page that wasn’t designed to convert.
Increasing budget without refining the message.

That’s not proof that ads don’t work.

Meta’s system is built around behavioural optimisation.
It will find you what you ask it to find. If you optimise for traffic, it finds clickers.
If you optimise for leads, it learns who is more likely to take that action.

The platform is doing its job.

The real question is whether your strategy and campaign structure aligns with your business outcome.

When ads are structured properly, they create something most business owners deeply want but rarely have, predictable lead flow and reduced marketing pressure.

Instead of wondering if this week’s post will “do well,” you build a system that runs in the background.

The average page reaches less than 1-4% of its followers organically.

If you have 1,000 followers, your content may only be shown to less than 50 people of them without paid distribution. If it performs well, it will go further out.

And yet, many businesses are still relying on organic reach to solely attract clients and leads.

Organic content absolutely matters. It builds trust and strengthens your brand. I use it and I believe in it.

But organic reach is not predictable distribution.

Feeds are saturated and attention is limited. When your revenue depends on whether the algorithm shows your post to the right person that day, you are building on unstable ground.

That is why I use Facebook ads.

Not because they are flashy, but because they allow you to choose distribution instead of hoping for it.

I have generated leads at $5 per day when the structure and creative were strong.
Ads are not about throwing money at the platform.
They are about building stability into your marketing.
