You’re never too old to jump on the digital bandwagon.
I had one of my most rewarding AI training sessions this week… and it was with my 78-year-old Dad.
He called me and said he’d finally “succumbed” to me going on about AI and wanted to learn this “Chat thing” 😂
For anyone who knows my Dad, this won’t surprise you. He’s always been a bit inspirational to me. Every time he’s had an idea, he’s just gone and done it. New businesses, new projects… and right now, he’s building an off-road caravan from scratch.
Some might call him a bit crazy. I call it inspiring.
So when that call came through, I was honestly so excited.
But what made this even more rewarding was his why.
Dad does a lot of research when he’s working on these projects. And like a lot of people, he’s found that the “good old days” of being able to pick up the phone and get helpful advice aren’t always there anymore.
He’d hit a point where he was stuck… and getting a bit overwhelmed.
So we jumped on a quick Teams call, ran through a simple AI setup, and within a couple of minutes he had the answers he needed.
Problem solved. Just like that.
And more importantly… a realisation that support is still there, just in a different way.
This is why I love what I do.
AI isn’t just for businesses or tech people. It’s for anyone with an idea, a project, or something they want to figure out.
It doesn’t replace the value of people… but it can be a powerful support when you need answers quickly.
Tomorrow I’m running an online workshop on how to set up your own AI Social Media Assistant, and I still get just as excited seeing people have those “aha” moments.
Because once it clicks… everything starts to feel a whole lot easier.
If you’ve ever thought you’re not techy enough or maybe a bit too old… you’re not. Start with the basics and just give it a go.
