“ FSR “

The FSR, prepared by Arise Racing, delivered an impressive display of speed and close racing at Round 5 of the WASCC Championship.

With lightweight prototypes, aggressive aerodynamics and plenty of horsepower, these machines put on a show around Wanneroo Raceway. From tight battles through the corners to full-throttle runs down the main straight, the FSR field was a highlight of the weekend.

“ COLD TYRES. BIG AMBITION. HARD LESSON “

They say you can’t win a race on the opening lap, but you can certainly lose one.

A little too much ambition, not quite enough grip, and suddenly the race takes an unexpected turn.

An unfortunate moment for the young driver of #95 during Round 5 at MotorMall Wanneroo Raceway.

Motorsport can be unforgiving, but every setback is another lesson learned.

“ WA HISTORICS “

A step back in time at Round 5 from MotorMall Wanneroo Raceway.

Classic race cars, close battles and plenty of character. There’s something different about watching these machines still being driven the way they were built to be.

Old school racing. Proper noise. Timeless machinery.

“ IMPROVED PRODUCTION “

Plenty of action from Improved Production at Motormall Wanneroo Raceway. Fast cars, close racing and a few different angles from around the circuit.

Shot on the Canon R6 Mark II, switching between the 70–200mm f/2.8 and the 400mm f/2.8. That 400mm is quickly becoming one of my favourite bits of kit trackside.

“ THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE RACING “

Motorsport is more than what happens on track.

It’s the drivers preparing for the next battle. The officials keeping everything moving. The media capturing the moments. The crews, the voices and the people standing out in the rain making the whole weekend happen.

A few of the faces and moments from behind the scenes at the 2026 HQ Nationals at MotorMall Wanneroo Raceway.

Sometimes it’s worth turning the camera away from the cars.

“ CLASSIC HOLDENS “

The 2026 HQ Nationals brought some of Australia’s best HQ Holden racers to MotorMall Wanneroo Raceway for a huge weekend of classic touring car action on September 26–27.

Returning to Western Australia for the first time since 2017, the Nationals saw local WA drivers take on competitors from across the country, delivering two days of close, hard-fought racing around Wanneroo Raceway.

A massive weekend celebrating one of Australia’s most iconic grassroots racing categories.

THIS IS RUGBY LEAGUE.

The hits.
The silence before the kick.
The conversations nobody hears.
The moments nobody plans.

One afternoon. One ground. A thousand stories.

“ TRY TIME “

North Beach scoring in the corner during their Grand Final against South Perth Lions last week.
Unfortunately it wasn’t enough for the win, though this is definitely a highlight moment.
