Today the CM team attended the Read The Play Inc. Supporting Young Minds High Tea at Flying Brick Cider and what a gorgeous afternoon it was!

Read the Play does such important work supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people through sport and today was a true reflection of the community they’ve built and the cause they champion.

We’re proud to be involved and excited for what’s to come as they enter their 20th year!!

Well done to Michelle, the guest speakers and the whole Read the Play team for putting on such a great event 💖

PR is so back!

Not that PR ever really left, but for a while there, a lot of businesses got swept up in the world of paid digital advertising.

And don't get us wrong, paid ads still have their place. But as AI tools start replacing traditional search, something interesting is happening. The content getting surfaced isn't the stuff brands paid to put in front of people. It's the stories that were genuinely written, shared and talked about. Press coverage, thought leadership, organic social media channels.

Gartner, a global research firm that tracks where industries are heading, is predicting PR and earned media budgets will double by 2027 as a result.

The brands investing in storytelling and media presence right now are the ones that are going to get found. We've believed this for a long time and it's pretty exciting to see the data catching up.

Geelong Arena has a brand new look and we're really proud of how it all came together.

We worked with Geelong United Basketball to manage the full brand refresh from brief to delivery, making sure the new look felt bold, energetic and worthy of everything the venue has to offer.

Then we project managed the build of the new website (beautifully built by the legends at Pixeld 🙏) pulling all the pieces together so the launch felt cohesive and considered.

Office spaces, meeting rooms, concerts, conferences, functions, major sporting events… the place has it all!

Media Results: Geelong Venom WNBL

Geelong Venom entered the 25/26 WNBL season with a refreshed identity, marking a new chapter for elite women’s basketball in Geelong.

Alongside Connie Regan (GM of Marketing and Partnerships), the focus was on building a marketing and communications approach that didn’t just increase visibility, but reconnected the local community with the team and strengthened a national presence around it.

From early storytelling and media engagement through to game day content, partnerships and digital, everything centred on creating something people could connect with. Giving the players space to show who they are, bringing fans closer to the action, and building momentum across the season.

The result was a strong uplift in visibility, engagement and coverage:

→ 4,429 media mentions
→ 28.9M potential reach
→ $12.6M earned media value
→ +3,230% increase in coverage

But beyond the numbers, the real impact was in the response.

Seeing the Geelong community show up, engage and get behind this team has been just as important as the reach and coverage. The level of connection across the season has been something special to watch.

Jackson made the move from Salt Lake City to Geelong in November and has hit the ground running ever since.

He specialises in short form video content built for sport, brand and culture, and he’s become a huge asset to the Circus Media team. The man knows how to capture a moment!

We’re jumping on the trend and circling back to 2016… and honestly having a hard time accepting that these photos were taken 10 years ago!

Which feels wild but also kind of special because it marks a huge milestone for us.

It’s officially been 10 years since Carly launched Circus Media.

A lot has changed since these photos (hair, phones, filters 😅) but the heart of what we do hasn’t. Storytelling, community, and being right in the thick of local sport.
 It’s also been 10 years since Carly’s first time working on the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race back when she was with Villawood. 
And now, full circle, our team is back on board again this year supporting media around the event, which kicks off next week!

2026 feels like a new era for Circus Media and we’ll be sharing more of what we’re up to as the year unfolds.

For now… enjoy some throwbacks of the team, circa 2016 🎪

Carly and Tayla are on the ground supporting the Venom crew and keeping the socials humming! Telling the story as it unfolds, capturing the atmosphere and helping fans feel connected no matter where they’re watching from.

How lucky are we that this is our job.
