nervous client decides whether to book you in about eight seconds, before they’ve read a single word.
I’ve built enough of these sites now to know it’s rarely the therapy that’s the problem. It’s the website quietly making someone more anxious before they’ve even reached out.
Most of what’s above isn’t expensive to fix. It’s not a redesign, it’s paying attention to the stuff that’s easy to skip. This is genuinely the checklist I run through with every health and wellness client before we touch a single visual.
Save this before you build, or rebuild, yours. Know a therapist who needs to see it? Send it their way.
If someone has to fill in six fields before they even see your calendar, you’ve lost them. The best flow feels like sending one email, not filling out an intake form twice.
“Evidence-based modalities” means nothing to someone deciding if they can trust you enough to open up. Say it the way you’d actually say it out loud.
Not a stock image. Not a stiff studio headshot either, the one that makes someone think “I could sit across from this person.”
The thing keeping most people from booking isn’t price. It’s not knowing what they’re walking into. Answer that before they have to ask.
Most people reach out to a therapist from their phone, often late, often mid-hard-moment. If the site is slow or clunky there, you’ve lost that window.
