Tight supply and stronger demand have helped lift confidence, with Dyson Jones WA manager Peter Howie noting opening prices jumped by more than 100¢/kg on day one of the Fremantle sale.

𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟭 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: Property Identification Code declarations mandatory for wool testing.

New rules governing the declaration of 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀 (𝗣𝗜𝗖) will come into effect on 𝟭 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲. This video summarises the changes and their impact on wool growers.

All classers’ reports 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗮 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱 𝗣𝗜𝗖 for wool to be processed and tested by . This applies to 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗽 𝗹𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗼𝘁𝘀 submitted for pre-sale testing. From 1st of January 2026, AWTH will not release test certificates without a valid PIC.

These changes align with new international standards and strengthen Australia’s emergency animal disease response plan.
