Ever tried driving a car blindfolded?

Sounds absurd, right?

Yet, many prospects we talk to are doing just that with their marketing strategies.

They’re steering without seeing.

Visibility over your marketing data is the key that will unlock your growth potential.

Picture this:

You’ve invested time, money, and resources into a killer marketing campaign.

But how do you know if it’s working?

Without clear visibility, you’re left guessing.

And guesswork is not a strategy.

Here’s why you need to lift the blindfold:

Visibility means you can make Informed Decisions

→ When you can see your data, you can make decisions based on facts, not hunches or opinions.

↳ This means allocating your budget where it actually matters.

Accurate data means your can track ROI

→ Understanding which campaigns bring the best return lets you double down on what works.

↳ No more throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks.

Data helps you Identify trends

→ Visibility allows you to spot trends early.

↳ You can pivot your strategy in rea-ltime, staying one step ahead of your competition.

Data delivers customer Insights

→ Knowing who interacts with your brand and how gives you a deeper understanding of your audience.

↳ Tailor your messages to speak directly to their needs.

Visibility makes your marketing more efficient

→ With clear data, your team can streamline processes and focus efforts on more high impact activities.

↳ You can save time, and see better results, faster.

So, how do you lift the blindfold?

You can start today by:

↳ Setting up Google Analytics and make sure your website is connected to it (ask your web developer to help or check).
↳ Make sure any social pixels are installed correctly(ask your web developer to help or check).
↳ Regularly reviewing your data with your marketing team
↳ Asking your marketing team questions to dig deeper into what the numbers are actually telling you. Don't be bamboozled by a monthly report that you don't understand.

Remember, marketing is part science, part art.

Data gives you the science.

Creativity adds the art.

When you blend the two, you can make magic.

Are you ready to see the light?

It’s time to get clear, get visible, and grow.

What’s your biggest challenge with your marketing data?

Open your calendar right now. Look at last week. How many hours did you spend ON marketing vs. IN marketing?

ON marketing = Strategy, planning, reviewing results

IN marketing = Doing tasks, approving posts, firefighting

Most CEOs of small businesses that I talk to spend 80% of their time IN marketing.

And wonder why it doesn't work.

Here's the thing: as a CEO, Marketing isn't something you should be DOING.

It's something you should be DIRECTING.

Your time should be spent:

- Setting strategy (where are we going?)
- Making decisions (what channels matter?)
- Reviewing performance (what's working?)

Not:

- Editing social posts
- Choosing stock photos
- Debating headline copy
- Sitting in endless agency status meetings

If you're spending more time IN marketing than ON marketing, you don't have a marketing system.

You have a another full-time job you didn't sign up for.

How many hours did YOU spend IN marketing last week?

Prospects often say to me that marketing hasn't worked for them in the past.

They did some Google Ads, or started posting on Socials....and nothing happened..

In many cases they spent a lot of dough with nothing to show for it.

99% of the time, we find its because there was no STRATEGY underlying the tactics.

Tactics before Strategy is like putting the Cart before the Horse.....and you won't get very far with that setup.

Start with the following before you waste valuable time and money on shiny marketing ' tactics'

1. Vision
2. Mission
3. Values
4. Customer Fit

These are some foundational elements your must have in place to develop an effective marketing strategy.

Think of them as guardrails so you don't go off track.

Happy trails.

The 3-Question Marketing Strategy

Most marketing strategies are 40 page docs that nobody reads.

Here's a better approach:

Just Answer 3 Simple But Important Questions

QUESTION #1

WHO?

Who EXACTLY are we targeting?

Not "B2B companies"
Not "businesses that need [insert solution]"

SPECIFIC:
- Company size
- Revenue range
- Current situation
- Why they need you NOW

QUESTION #2

WHERE?

Where and how do they actually make
buying decisions?

Not where you WANT them to be.
Where they ARE.

LinkedIn? Google? Facebook? Referrals?
Events? Cold outreach?

Pick 2-3 channels MAX.

QUESTION #3

WHAT?

What do they care about?
What problems keeps them up at night?

Not your features.
Not your credentials.

What are they desperately trying to fix that you actually solve?

Say it in THEIR words,
not yours.

THAT'S IT.

WHO are we targeting?
WHERE do they decide?
WHAT makes them care?

3 questions.

If you can't answer these
with precision, your marketing
will be fuzzy.

If you CAN, everything else
gets easier.

More importantly, which of the 3 Cocktails in this pic would you choose? :)

If you're scrolling Facebook on a Saturday... You're probably either:

A) Avoiding something you should be doing
B) Procrastinating on a big decision
C) Looking for inspiration you're not going to act on

I'm doing all three right now😜

Here's your reminder:

Inspiration without ex*****on is just procrastination with better lighting.

Spend 5 minutes today and ask yourself these 2 questions:

1) What's the ONE goal this month that would transform your business - if you hit it?

2) What's the ONE thing you can do this week to move you closest to that goal?

Did the answers come easily?

If not - go for a quick walk, make a cuppa, pour a wine and sit with the questions for a bit.

Once you know your answers, write them down.

Put them where you'll see them Monday morning.

Post-it on your laptop.
Calendar reminder.
Slack message yourself.
Whatever works.

The weekend is for rest - but its also a great time to set your focus for the week (without all the noise).

Monday morning its really easy to get sidetracked and start putting out fires and reacting.

Stop scrolling. Go make a decision. See you Monday.

Something nobody warns you about when you become CEO of a small business.

You're going to spend a shocking amount of time thinking about marketing.

Not doing marketing. Thinking about it.

- Should we hire an agency?
- Is this person the right marketer?
- What roles should we keep in house?
- Why aren't we getting more leads?
- Should we be on this platform?
- Is this campaign worth the investment?

And here's the frustrating part: You probably didn't become a CEO because you loved marketing.

You became a CEO because you:

- Built a great product
- Solved a real problem
- Had technical expertise
- Wanted to grow a business
- Were passionate about what you do

Marketing was just... something you'd figure out later.

But now "later" is here. And marketing is:

- One of your biggest expenses
- One of your biggest frustrations
- One of your biggest mysteries

You've outsourced it, but it's not working.

You've hired for it, but they're not strategic enough.

You've tried to ignore it, but the results suffer.

Here's the thing.

You don't have to LOVE marketing.
But you do have to UNDERSTAND it.

At least enough to:

- Set clear strategy
- Make smart decisions
- Evaluate performance
- Hold people accountable

Because if you don't understand it, you can't lead it.

And if you can't lead it, you're just hoping someone else will.

And hope is not a strategy.

The good news? You don't need an MBA in marketing and you don't need to hire a full time CMO and build out an entire internal marketing team....yet ;)

You just need a framework for thinking about it strategically.

Once you have that, everything gets clearer.

The decisions get easier.

The investments make sense.

The frustration decreases.

Marketing doesn't have to be a mystery. It just needs to be understood.

How much time did YOU spend thinking about marketing in your business last week?

Here's what I see with many CEOs I talk to and work with...

They're brilliant at what they do.

Running successful businesses.

Making smart decisions every day.

But marketing? It often takes a backseat.

Not because they don't care.

Because they're wearing so many hats and don't have the internal marketing leadership to get it done properly.

Here's what shifts when we build a system together:

BEFORE: Random acts of marketing

→ Marketing when inspired or simply reacting
→ No clear strategy
→ Inconsistent results
→ Always starting from scratch

AFTER: Strategic growth engine

→ Systematic content creation
→ Clear 90-day roadmap
→ Predictable pipeline
→ Compounding results

The difference? A system that works for you, not against you.

A framework that turns marketing from "one more thing on the list" into something that just... runs.

That's why I'm building my CEO Marketing Growth Sprint.

90 minutes a week
4 Weeks
100% Online
Maximum 15 CEOs, Founders or Business Leaders

We'll work together to create your Marketing Growth Engine.

Your 90-day Marketing Roadmap
Your Brand Messaging framework
And your first 30 days of content.
All mapped out.

Not theory. Not homework. Your actual system, built.

Plus, we'll help you design the team structure you need to sustain it -whether that's internal, fractional, or hybrid.
