YouTubeโs New Rule from July 15: No Monetisation for Repetitive or Copied Videos
Starting July 15, 2025, YouTube will no longer allow monetisation for creators who upload repetitive, reused, or copied videos. This change is part of a big update to the YouTube Partner Program (YPP),to improve the quality of content on the platform.
Why YouTube Is Doing This ?
Over the years, YouTube has seen a sharp rise in reused, AI-generated, and copy-paste content. This includes:
Reaction mashups with little originality
AI-made slideshows with no real value
Over-edited versions of someone elseโs video
Low-quality and clickbait content made just to chase views
YouTube is now putting its foot down. The goal is to protect genuine creators and cut down the number of channels that misuse the platform.
Creators will lose monetisation if they use the following tactics:
Copying someone elseโs video content
Repurposing videos with only small edits
Mass-producing videos using templates or AI tools
Posting the same type of content over and over again with no originality
If your content adds no real value, either educational or entertaining, YouTube will not pay you for it.
