The Suicidal Photographer is GTA San Andreas’ Most Flawless Pathfinding Breakdown.On the scenic coastlines near the Los Santos-San Fierro border, players frequently spot an NPC standing on the shore taking photos of the skyline before turning around and calmly walking straight into the deep water to drown, dubbed The Suicidal Photographer.This wasn't a dark, intentional narrative touch added by Rockstar to detail local tragedies, it was a simple node-mapping error in the pedestrian system. The game engine assigned the photographer NPC a standard wander after activity routine, but the walking node behind them was accidentally placed past the steep drop-off into deep water.Because San Andreas NPCs lack swimming scripts, the pathfinder simply forces them to march forward into their doom. The game spawned a classic piece of uncanny urban folklore that players still test today.
