জীবনও সমুদ্রের মতো—চ্যালেঞ্জ ছাড়া আমরা শক্তিশালী হতে পারি না। কঠিন পরিস্থিতিই আমাদের শেখায় ধৈর্য এবং স্থিতিশীলতা বজায় রাখতে। যেখানে ঝড় আছে, সেখানে আমাদের সিদ্ধান্ত নেবার ক্ষমতা তৈরি হয়। বিপদই আমাদের কৌশল এবং দক্ষতা পরীক্ষা করে। যত বেশি সমস্যার মুখোমুখি হব, ততই আমরা সক্ষম এবং আত্মবিশ্বাসী হব।

শুধু সম্পদ নয়, জীবনের ভারসাম্যই আসল সম্পদ

১৯২৩ সালে পৃথিবীর সমচেয়ে সম্পদশালী এমন ৮ জন ব্যক্তি মিলিত হয়েছিলেন, যাদের সম্মিলিত সম্পদ ছিল সেই সময় যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের সরকারের সম্পদের থেকে বেশি। এই ব্যক্তিরা কী করে সম্পদ সংগ্রহ করতে হয় এবং জীবনযাপন করতে হয়, সে সম্পর্কে সম্পূর্ণ অবহিত ছিলেন। ২৫ বৎসর পরে তাদের কী অবস্থা হোল সেটি একবার দেখা যাক-

১. চার্লয় স্ক্যায়াব (Charles Schwab) ছিলেন বৃহত্তম ইস্পাত কারখানার সভাপতি। তিনি জীবনের শেষ ৫ বৎসর ঋণ করে ব্যবসা চালিয়েছেন, তারপর দেউলিয়া হয়ে মারা যান।

২. হাওয়ার্ড হাবসন্ (Howard Hubson) ছিলেন সবচেয়ে বড় গ্যাস কোম্পানীর সভাপতি। তিনি পাগল হয়ে গিয়েছিলেন।

৩. আর্থার কাট্টন (Arthur Cutton)-সবচেয়ে বড় ব্যবসায়ীদের একজন ছিলেন, ইনিও দেউলিয়া হয়ে মারা যান।

৪. রিচার্ড দুইটনী (Rechard Whitney) ছিলেন নিউইয়র্ক ষ্টক এক্সচেঞ্চের সভাপতি, তাকে জেলে পাঠানো হয়েছিল।

৫. প্রেসিডেন্টর মন্ত্রীসভার একজন সদস্য, এ্যালবার্ট ফল (Albert Fall) জেলে গিয়েছিলেন। কিন্তু তাকে ক্ষমা করার পর, নিজের বাড়িতে গিয়ে শান্তি পেয়ে মৃত্যু বরণ করেন।

৬. জেসি. লিভার মোর (Jessi Livermore) ছিলেন ওয়াল স্ট্রীটের সবচেয়ে বড় ফাটকাবাজ, যিনি আশ্চর্যরকম কমদামে কেনা অনেক শেয়ার বাজারে বিক্রি করতেন। তিনি আত্মহত্যা করেন।

৭. পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে বড় একচেটিয়া ব্যবসার সভাপতি আইভার ক্রুগার (Ivar Kruegre) আত্মহত্যা করেন।

৮. ইন্টারন্যাশনেল সেটলমেন্ট ব্যাঙ্কের (International Settlement Bank) এর প্রেসিডেন্ট লিয় ফ্রেজার (Leon Fraser) ও আত্মহত্যা করেছিলেন।

এরা সবাই ধনবান, কিন্তু এরা ভুলে গিয়েছিলেন কিভাবে জীবন যাপন করতে হয়। এই উদাহরণগুলি থেকে পাঠকদের ভুল ধারণা জন্মাবে যে অর্থই অনর্থের মূল। এই ধারণা সত্য নয়। অর্থ ক্ষুধার্তকে অন্ন জোগায়, অসুস্থকে ওষুধ জোগায়, দুঃস্থকে বস্ত্র জোগায়। অর্থের দ্বারাই এই সবকিছু ক্রয় করা যায়।

আমাদের দু'রকমের শিক্ষার প্রয়োজন। আমাদের শিখতে হবে কী করে জীবিকা অর্জন করতে হয় এবং সেইসঙ্গে ক্লিভাবে জীবনযাপন করতে হয়।

এই ঘটনাগুলো আমাদের একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ শিক্ষা দেয়—শুধু অর্থ উপার্জনই জীবনের সাফল্য নয়। প্রকৃত সাফল্য তখনই আসে, যখন জীবিকা ও জীবন—এই দুইয়ের মধ্যে সঠিক ভারসাম্য বজায় রাখা যায়। পরিবার, স্বাস্থ্য, সম্পর্ক, মূল্যবোধ এবং মানসিক শান্তি—এসবই জীবনের প্রকৃত সম্পদ। তাই শুধু ধনী হওয়া নয়, মানুষ হওয়াটাই সবচেয়ে বড় অর্জন।

এরকম মেসেজ আমরা প্রায়ই দেখতে পাই। এরা স্ক্যামার। এরা প্রায়ই এভাবে মেসেজ করে মানুষকে ফাঁদে ফেলার চেষ্টা করে। এদের থেকে সতর্ক থাকা জরুরি।

আজ সকালে এক লোক আমাকে মেসেজ করে বলল, “ঘরে বসে মোবাইল দিয়ে কাজ করে টাকা আয় করুন, শুধু গুগলে ৫-স্টার রিভিউ দিন।” 🤔
